Randle was traded for ANTHONY DAVIS!!! We are talking a top 5 player here! Randle wasn’t pursued by the Pelicans because they had just drafted ZION WILLIAMSON!!!! It’s not like he’s a bum or a NBA tramp!
How is it one player improves so much in a year? Especially THIS year when players had less time with their respective teams?
The Knicks are hitting over 40% of their three attempts so far which spreads the floor and gives Randle more room. Losing some weight has made him quicker but the real difference between last season and this season is teammates hitting shots. If the Knicks have a rough game shooting things get tougher for Randle but I think it speaks volumes that Thibodeau, who normally doesn’t talk up his players much in the media, is singing the praises for Randle and has given him a lot of freedom as a distributor so AGAIN Randle is leading the Knicks in scoring, rebounding AND assists.
Not bad for a bum!

Not bad for a bum! I get the point you're trying to make Bill I do. But Randle wasn't traded alone for Anthony Davis. It was a Kings Ransom that Randle also happened to be included with lol. Also on a bad team SOMEONE has the score the points so it could've been Bobby Portis scoring his averages and he still wouldn't have been retained as Portis is with Milwaukee at present time. You see Kevin Love averages great empty stats too but the Cavs actually have had the worst record not including the Lebron years of course than us. It means nothing if your best players brings you to the lotto. Like I said I am cautiously optimistic if it's sustainable as I stated with Payton and Frank's recent performance but TWO franchises decided he wasn't worth investing in. One of them won the championship with the player he was traded for and the other is a once in a generation wunderkind. Doesn't mean Randle is trash but again we just drafted someone that occupies the same space as him and could put up similar numbers in the timeline of RJ and Mitch. I'm not resigning to the contract Randle expects and frankly should get because he's 26 to a guy who just in a few games decided not to freeze out RJ and Knox. He did that last year alot and I disliked him amongst other things for it. |

I'm 150 years old and I'd have froze loafing knox and non shooting RJ. We couldnt hit the side if a barn last year. Was our BEST shooter Dot. Better shooters give him more space and a double has to come from farther away.
BTW, how many games will it be before Mitch makes a jump shot. Of course, you have to shoot one to make one.

The lakers let Randle walk in free agency for nothing I thought? Just didn’t pick up his 5th year option. The lakers pretty much chose Kuzma over him. That was a year before the Anthony Davis trade. Anyway I like what I’ve seen from Randle this year so far. Hopefully we can build a strong supporting cast that will attract 2 marquee free agents in the next 2-3 years.

I don’t know about RJ. He can’t shoot , off/on, it’s never consistent. I’m slightly worried. I'm slightly worried. But very slightly. He's taking better shots and if he is working as hard as I believe he'll be ok. Not steph level 😂 shooting but acceptable. I'll say what I said late last season. He needs the mid range pull up. He took one last night. BTW his defense looks better and Thibs seems to believe in him at that end. |

In the post-game, Randle talked about how passing is easier because the players are where they are supposed to be in the offense. That way, when the double team hits, he knows where to pass the ball without thinking about it.
So, great coaching!!!
