Ed Mcmahon too. Michael Jackson aside from his adversities was one of the best enetertainers that ever lived and he has timeless music no matter what genre you liked. Sad day indeed. Both for Mike and the knicks

Ed McMahon was 86 and I never shed too many tears for anybody who makes it past 80. ; ) Farrah Fawcett was expected. Michael Jackson was a complete surprise.

Farrah Fawcett was a class act and I had no idea about Ed McMahon's passing. I was and am still shocked about Michael Jackson's passing.
God Bless All Who Do Pass Away.

I am awed by Farrah Fawcett's courage. I am not surprised Michael Jackson died so young because he always seemed so frail and his lifestyle seemed so unnatural. The word is prescription drugs may have been involved. Errol Flynn died at 50 but he screwed, drank and partied himself to an early grave and ultimately I think he had a lot more fun in his brief life than Jackson but maybe not as much fun as Elvis.

Two icons with turbulent lives who never stopped doing what they loved. We could all learn a lesson from them.
God rest your souls, Farrah and Michael. You're both in a better place now.

Honestly, and I may show maybe how young i am to all of you but Michael Jackson whether you liked him personally or not was the most influential to the next generation of stars to come after and during his time and more stars and legends were connnected to him than anyone in modern music history.
sorry irish for bringing up michael jackson up on your basketball board but he is soon to be one of the last legends in music alive. i believe there are about maybe 7-10 important genre crossings legends in music anyway alive and when they are gone music will be so empty. Paul McCartney, Prince, Stevie wonder, Diana Ross, Tina turner, Aretha Franklin, Bruce Springsteen are amongst some that are still alive that come immediately to mind as legendary figures that transcended even their respective genres just naming names. James Brown, ol blue eyes Sinatra and even now michael Jackson who was probably younger than most here except for me, leaves a heavy hole in music.
I didnt go into details on living music legends as its basically a mixture of opinion and common mutual respect if you agree with who i listed or not. But the point is despite his alleged encounters with sick children visiting his house and things that may or may not have happened, his music for everyone, not just black, brown, yellow or white outshined and overpowered the heavy depresssing last ten years of his life.
If he affected you musically in any period, whether it was the motown era when he was a kid, or when he firsst ever moonwalked and you tried to emulate it or even when he eased on the down the roaad during the Wizard of Oz remake, "the Wiz", he was important to so many people that even sing dance or play rock, R&B, rap, pop, and even disco.
Anyway, I'm not going to longwind the point I'm trrying to make and back to the Knicks but i must say life is cruel someetimes because people leave you in death when you arent ready and i always believed he wouldnt leave the earth at least until he captured the peoples hearts one more time on stage and unfortunately his time was up.
Be closse to those who you hold dear because 50 isnt old at all and it scares me to leave my family before I accomplish my goals in life that early.
God bless you aand your families even if you dont believe in God.
Peace,
Jason
