The Knicks worked out the following players. I would imagine who they draft is from this group:
Demar DeRozan 6'6, 220 SG/SF from USC
Daniel Hackett 6'5, 210 PG from USC
Tyreke Evans 6'5, 220 from Memphis
Brandon Jennings, 6'1, 170 from HS/Europe
Jonny Flynn - 6'1, 196 PG from Syracuse
Terrence Williams, 6'6, 218 SF from Louisville
Stephen Curry, 6'3, 180 PG from Davidson
Jrue Holiday, 6'4, 199 PG from UCLA
Jordan Hill, 6'10, 232 PF from Arizona
Ty Law, 6' 197 PG from North Carolina
Hackett was actually impressive and look for the Knicks to try and get a 2nd rd pick to get him or sign him as a free agent if he is undrafted. He lived in Italy, knows D'Antoni and played as a kid with Gallinari.
Obviously I doubt Evans, Hill or Curry will be in play when the Knicks pick. However Holiday is amongst the most physically impressive of the players who worked out for the Knicks. He has a tremendous wingspan, elite athleticism and he spent his freshman year at UCLA playing out of position because Darren Collison came back for his senior year. He also had 2 Knick workouts so he is my "leader" for the #8 pick.
DeRozan and Williams are also elite athletes and each has skills. Williams has more experience as a senior and DeRozan is an inch taller at 6'7. Both are great finishers at the rim which makes them fits for the Knicks system. Both can shoot and play both ends of the court.
Flynn and Lawson are short but tough, strong more traditional guards. Both are good athletes and if you New Yorkers remember Flynn played 67 minutes in a 6 overtime win against UConn and finished the game with 34 points. Lawson led UNC to a National Championship and it seemed nobody could stop his dribble penetration. I'm not a Jennings fan but he seemed to think he did great in his workout.
I read where Earl Clark, the high flying Louisville forward did work out for the Knicks but he is not listed on the official Knicks Draft Central page. Clark is from Rahway, NJ so he is a local but his senior teammate is also a draft consideration.
