Just read on RealGM that Minnesota has reportedly acquired Washington's 5th pick in a deal. Randy Foye and Mike Miller are headed to Washington in exchange for Etan Thomas, Oleksiy Pecherov, Darius Songaila and the fifth overall pick.

This is fine sometimes the deal you dont make is the best move. Walsh didnt want to give up Chandler and this was a good move not to. In reality just adding a mid to late first round pick would make me happy. Remember thats were we found David lee. The thing about this draft is there isnt much difference in the players from around the 14th to the 30th pick. Rome wasent built in a day and either will the Knicks. We have lots of pieces to use for trades this upcoming season. We have Mobleys insured contract, and the expiring contract of Harrington could excite some teams trying to make a playoff push near the deadline. So if the Knicks do not not make any moves everybody stay calm, and let Donnie Walsh make be patient. On a positive note I read Gallonari is feeling good and should be back on the court soon. They told Chandler to practice his handle because he will be playing in the 2 guard slot this season.

Now the word from Donnie Walsh is that he is "95% sure" the Knicks won't be making a draft day deal and they will just stand pat with their pick. That statement makes me think they have settled on Jrue Holiday because they worked him out twice and they are certain he will still be around at #8.
Merc has a point Harrington's deal will be attractive to playoff teams looking for scoring punch in February. Hughes is in the same boat as Harrington and he might play himself into an attractive alternative for a playoff bound team looking for SG help.
If we don't trade Jared Jefferies, and that seems a longshot now that most of the chips the Wizards might have used for that deal just went to Minnesota for Foye and Miller, there goes any chance of keeping Lee. That makes me think the Knicks are looking more seriously at Chris Bosh with Lee, Mobley's contract and some filler.
San Antonio helped themselves immediately today and Minnesota made some giant strides for their future. If the draft goes as predicted they have a good shot at Jordan Hill, Stephen Curry, James Harden and Hasheem Thabeet. I think Memphis goes for Harden, OKC goes for Rubio and Sacramento for Evans. That leaves Thabeet and Curry as Wolves. Put them with Jefferson, Love and the rest pf the young Wolves and they will be out of the woods and hunting in fields of plenty sooner than later.

I think the best pick left is Gerald Henderson. He's a great character guy who's smart has good bloodlines, plays defense, rebounds, and gets in the paint ,can pullup for the short jumper and does not turn the ball over, runs and passes. He's my type of player a complete players who has had great workouts and IMO is the best available player at eight. All the other picks there are turnover machines,Henderson is a perfect fit a smart complete player playing for a great coach perfect together,he can be our floor leader at the two.

Rene
One of the things I like best about this board are the many different and highly informed perspectives I have read of the various draft candidates. Your evaluation of Henderson is great.
Of course my head will explode if I add another name to the long list of possibilities but I'll take the chance. ; )

GG...
So there still is hope for a deal with Jared Jeffries? Thank heavens! The Knicks must excise Jeffries' contract, which was the only reason I liked the deal from the get-go. That extra $7.5 million will go a long way in paying CB4's salary. Of course, maybe we can somehow parlay Cuttino's contract into something enticing, if we are talking about a sign and trade with the Raptors...

I'd say the chances are pretty decent the Knicks can still trade Jefferies to the Wizards. Grunfeld loves JJ and with Mike Miller playing SG Mike James is more than expendable.

I forgot that Mike Miller was a swingman, and a tall guard. The stage may be set for Mike James to come here, and jared to go back home to Grunfeld and his cast of declining players ; )I am feeling better now, at least regarding Jared's deal coming off the books.
