Where are the discussions of the playoffs taking place? I've watched more playoff games this season than I normally do when the Knicks aren't in it.
Boston/Chicago was a great series to watch. Boston/Orlando is also an exciting series. Turdbury made some shots tonight. I know that this is blasphemy, but my dislike of anything named Van Gundy seems to make me sympathetic to the Celtics. Maybe I just want to see the Cavs destroy them. I don't think LBJ is coming to NY. Hopefully LBJ is just saying the right thing in Cleveland. No need to rock the boat.

I didn't start following the NBA until 1994, so you can understand when I say this: The Knicks and Celtics may have had a bitter rivalry, but it couldn't be ANYTHING like that with Jordan's Bulls. They killed us every time, especially in the Playoffs.

LBJ doesn't belong here. He's the best thing to happen to Cleveland since the Browns won it all in 1964. Without him, the Cavs no hope for a title. What's more, the Cavs already went through growing pains with him. If he comes to NYC, he'll have to do that all over again, and that will just delay our development more.
I'm sure some Knicks dream of #23 jerseys, which is cool. But as Brett Favre and CC Sabathia proved, a big name doesn't guarantee success all by itself.

I think if LBJ wins the championship this year, he definitely will be in New York in 2010. Once you climb K2, what is left but to climb Everest. He will need a new challenge, and what better a place to take that on, but New York. The extras in exposure and endorsements will close the deal for sure. The only question will be whether Walsh and Mullins(probably) can put together a good enough supporting cast to complement LBJ.

It seems every day I have a different answer on King James but I would not be unhappy to end up with Bosh and Wade if we miss out on LBJ. ; )

Michael Jordan climbed K2 six times, Shaq four times, and Kobe Bryant three times. I don't recall any of them saying they wanted to come here afterwards.

One thing is for sure: If we dump Eddy Chubby we will have two free agent signings in 2010!

Surprising playoffs so far. Lakers look a little shaky. Could the finals be a matchup of LBJ vs. Carmelo instead of Kobe?

LBJ guarantees a winner alot more that a washed up favre. Shaq and farve are a better comparison. Labron coming to Ny would not "delay" our development; it would turbo-charge our improvement

Gates
I agree. LeBron is a player you build around. He's the NBA's best player and his presence, no matter what the roster, adds 10 wins easily and likely a lot more. I like a lot of players but nobody does all the things LBJ does so his addition not just adds a great scorer but also a good rebounder, passer, and most of all a stellar defender. LBJ is one of those very rare guys who makes his teammates better. Plus he is still young and even improving.

I would love to see Carmelo vs Lebron. Carmelo is playing great ball. I had a post a few weeks back praising Lamar Odom's play as of late and comparing him on Carmelo's level. Thing is this playoffs, Melo is playing some good defense aside from lighting up the scoreboard. Not even close. I think Kobe will own game 7, ala Jordan vs the Knicks in game 7 of the 1992 Eastern Conference Semi's- pushing LA past the Rockets. Kenyon Martin however will be the best post defender Pau Gasol will have faced this postseason, and Pau as I mentioned in that same Odom post- is still playin like the best power forward in the game. Billups will destroy Laker point guards. If LA is going to beat Denver like we expect, Kobe is going to have to step up and guard Billups or even Melo when Odom gets in foul trouble. He must guard the best Nugget player on EVERY possession. Kobe failed to man up and guard Paul Pierce when it counted in last years finals. Why? I dont know.

Somewhere down the line this year Kobe is going to have to d up a superstar. he's capable of doing that but I wanna see if he demands that assignment.

It is a joy watching Carmelo as he is the closest thing the NBA has to Bernard King.
