From what I hear Walsh wont trade mobley's contract. However, this could be Walsh bluffing. The more I see David Lee play,and the promise of Gallo and Chandler the more I think LeBron will sign with the Knicks as we stand. Lebron will know we will have another 18 million to spend in 2011 to sign another free agent. However, if we could get the Rockets to take Curry or Jefferies in a trade for TMAC I would do it. Another question is would anyone want to trade for Tmac even if we didnt get rid of Curry or Jefferies?

How would one do that? In order to obtain McGrady a team has to come up with players with salaries of 17.9mil for his 23mil+ salary. Those are the rules, and the NBA has stated that is what it will take to conform. So Nate is 4mil and Mobley is 9mil(but untouchable according to Donnie). So my question to you Rene is "How do you get to 17.9mil without Curry or Jeffries?"

Ironman the only way I see this working is N8,Jeffries and Hughes or Mobley for Tmac,Mobley is a question mark but these guys make this work for both,JJ has value which they could trade or keep and N8 and their salaries are no to high.The Knicks want to keep Al ,that way we can package Curry with him if possible.Houston will get N8,9 million cap relief and a defender who can guard mutiple positions we get cap relief without touching our future players.

One could gamble and wait and hope he doesn't do a sign and trade or re-negotiate his contract(extension or something). Then he can probably be had for the MLE. If you want him alongside LeBron let's say. He will be a free agent this summer, and he can play the point.

Of course I would sell most, but not all of the farm for McGrady and Budinger. Only Gallinari and Lee are untouchable with me. Then a side deal for DJ Augustin, and the Knicks look like a functioning team, with Duhon now expendable, as McGrady, if healthy can play point guard. Chandler, Thomas, Curry or Jeffries, throw in Nate. I do it. |
