Let's get this party started Curry,Mobley and Jeffries along with ten million cash and personal services to drive them there free for TMac.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the "long term contracts" they would be willing to take back would actually have to be good players. Either that or a good player is going to have to come along with those contracts.

Either that or a good player is going to have to come along with those contracts. As far as I can see you are still on the ground, safe and sound. Still, the market for TMac is going to be beyond depressed. Taking a quick look at teams with big paycheck stars I don't see a single one that would trade their player for TMac. We might have a chance of doing a deal here. Curry, Jefferies and Nate?

TO BE HONEST I WOULD EVEN INCLUDE JORDAN HILL IN THE DEAL IF THE ROCKETS WOULD TAKE JEFFERIES, CURRY, AND NATE OF OUR HANDS. THE KINICKS WOULD BE IN PERFECT POSITION FOR NEXT SEASON. AND I WOULD ALSO GIVE THEM THREE MILLION IN CASH.

I think they meant they would take back a player like a Kevin Martin or a Monta Ellis with a long contract. I cant see them taking our junk players when all they have to do is let him expire.

I don't mean to be a party-pooper, but did we forget McGrady's tenure with the Rockets was injury-plagued, and he's coming off microfracture surgery on his left knee? Can we reasonably expect him to be at full strength the moment he puts on a Knick jersey?

The key now becomes the opponents friend. Gary

Curry, Mobley and Nate would be a good starting point. If we trade Curry, I would want to keep Jeffries as he is a decent role player who will come off the books after next year.
If we can trade Curry, then we can sign Lebron and a second max with money left over to keep Lee. Imagine Lebron and Wade together with Lee at C and Gallo at the PF spot. Douglas would fit better as the PG since he would not be the main ball handler, Lebron would. That team would be able to score and run the offense the way D'Antoni envisioned.
Hill could focus on developing his defense and as a good jump shooter, he would be a great pick and pop pplayer with Lebron.
A man can dream......

Here is the deal that may go down, as the Rockets have stated the Knicks have nothing they want. To match a deal with the Rockets the Knicks have to include 17.9mil in salary, to meet the league requirements. First the Knicks deal Al Harrington to the Bulls(who want him badly) for Tyrus Thomas. Then the Knicks deal Tyrus Thomas and Jeffries and/ or Nate/Mobley whatever it takes to get to 17.9mil, for McGrady and another player. The Rockets have 15 players on the roster, so the Knicks have to trade 2 for 2, or 3 for 3. The Rockets covet Thomas as much as the Bulls covet Harrington. It will not go down as a 2 team trade.

Of course I would sell most, but not all of the farm for McGrady and Budinger. Only Gallinari and Lee are untouchable with me. Then a side deal for DJ Augustin, and the Knicks look like a functioning team, with Duhon now expendable, as McGrady, if healthy can play point guard. Chandler, Thomas, Curry or Jeffries, throw in Nate. I do it.

It doesn't really matter whether McGrady can and does play or not. That would just be an added bonus.

Due to the full Houston roster I guess we'd have to do the 2 for 2 or 3 for 3 as mentioned above. We don't have a full roster so we can take an extra guy back? Or are we at the Max with Bender signed?
Anyway we cant send them 2,3,4 guys we dont want and get 2,3.4 guys that help our situation.. For the math to work for Curry at 10.5 we'd have to package him with Hughes who makes 13 mil or Harrington who makes the same as Eddy and another player....TMac Makes 23.2 maybe they would throw in Joey Dorsey the former memphis center who is a good post defender buried behind Scola and Chuck Hayes right now. But then again Hughes is expiring and unless Curry shows value..Houston has no inclination to make this deal.

I still think houston and da bullz are gonna make a deal that will head line with TMac going to Chicago and Tyrus Thomas perhaps Hinrich flying to Houston

Curry plus Mobley makes the trade work from a financial standpoint.
