Buying them out will save half of the salries ,I said if we can't trade them witout costing us a player with value,I'm sorry if that doesn't make sense to you,but if we can't trade them unless we include Gallo or Chandler I would buy them both out savings us 9 million in cap relief ,according to the rules we can buyout options at 50% of their value .I thin k as we get down to the end of year teams will be looking at 2010 free agents which will make it harder to trade both but obviously if Jeffries can be traded you do that instead.
Ps Kenny I miss you ,I have a theory why you haven't posted and I hope I'm right,you are trying to get a thin Curry picture posted and it's taken you a while.LOL

Rene when a player is bought out his contract stays on the the cap number which is why we still had Marbury'ss contract til last summer even though he was playing for the Celtics. Buyouts are for player separation and franchise roster cuts only. You dont recieve cap relief for a buyout. That never was the case. When we bought out Jalen Rose and Antonio Davis and Steph and Shandon Anderson they were still on our books. Same with Allan Houston when he retired.

It's different with an option year you get 50% cap relief.

I am confused to why some posters here are insisting that to trade Jefferies or Curry we have to give up Chandler or Gallo?
That may have been one teams stance on trade that was never made, but I do believe Jefferies has trade value on his own, and will be moved.
Curry will need some PT to tantalize another team into desiring him. HE wants to show
the knicks they were wrong about him. I hope he does and then is jettisoned to another franchise where he can thrive or go back to apathy.
There is no team in the NBA or the Universe that wants to make a trade with us
for all the overpaid players and malcontents we don't want in one fell swoop...((Curry Jefferies, Nate, Darko), why folks post scenarios like that is confusing. Who would trade for
ALL the unwanted parts of one of the worst teams of the decade?
NY can and will likely will move some pieces to gain max cap space to really rebuild, I would guess that Jeffries will be traded. and I would not be surprised to see Harrington or Chandler
or anyone but Gallo and Lee moved to get draft picks, cap relief, a potential blue chip PG (augustine, rubio, fernandez).
change is gonna come kids,
and we need more than 50% of the salaries of JJ and Eddie to go.
If anyone get's bought out
it will be Nate or Darko

Why buyout N8 or Darko their contracts expire at year's end.Dude you have any clue what we are trying to do by clearing cap contracts in JJ and Curry with that money we sign a star free agent, buying out N8 and Darko you get to lose money period can you understand the differrence.The idea here is to have the best team in 2010.http://hoopshype.com/salaries/new_york.htm

the reason I suggested that Nate and Darko could be bought out is because of attitude problems
not for cap room purposes. I'd be happy to buy you out but there's only like 3 people who post here now
so I'll have to learn to love you.

yeah for years I wished that Dolan would buy out my fanship and send me home like
he bought out so many players circa isaiah.
oh well happy to see us roaring through December 09 let's hope for more of the same in 2010
at this pace we will make the playoffs....(and our 1st round draftr pick inow n utah will not sting nearly as much
come june.

Am I not part of the board and am I the only elder, most on this board most are men not kids .N8 and Darko will never be bought out because then we could not use their contract in a trade to get cap relief.If we can't trade Curry without shipping Gallo or Chandler with him I rather buyout Curry Option year,at worst case we can save 2 million buy offerring him 2 million less which he will get from another team instead of riding the pine for another year.But JJ has value and hopefully we can move him without hurting our core.I fine to address the boards as kids is insulting to most members but that's me I care about respecting people I guess,address the board as you will I'm just suggesting a better avenue.
