The Wizards are reportedly interested in trading Mike James' expiring contract and with the addition of Earl Boykins who has been a refreshing new addition to that club they have no need for so many guards. Now this rumor comes from surprisingly not a NY paper but from Washington, The Washington Post to be exact so it would by default have more merit than our tabloids. Anyway, the deal is out there if coach would get rid of this love affair with Jeffries and his alleged intangibles. Nobody like Jeffries and Isiah was a God-send to him for giving him that rubbish contract. They need size and liked Jeffries intangibles too and we need to make room for either Curry, Hill or Mlicic to start playing in this sacred 7 man rotation D'antoni has. Mike James for Jared Jeffries st8 up, get the damn deal done. Here is the link: www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/63233/20091206/source_wizards_want_to_trade_mike_james/-Jason

why would they trade his expiring contract for a non expiring contract, especially when that player is a stiff?

RX...
Grunfeld is in love with Jared Jeffries and the obvious benefit for a good Washington team would to get a younger guy who would fit in better. Jared, for some reason or another, has been on the 'Zards radar for some time, according various rumors over the months, and this may just be the break we've been looking for. Plus, Jeffries brings those "intangibles" that I haven't ever seen, but some believe he has.
How many 6'11 guys do you know can guard PGs? 'Nuff said. : )

Jefferies and Cervasio to Washington. Maybe then they'll take him. I can't believe that any team that Jarred Jefferies actually played for would want to have him back. I would think they'd still be congratulating themselves for getting rid of him.

The Knicks have been playing good teams well and really look decent when the PG plays an average game. Good free agnets wont come to NY if there is only unproven or secondary talent. The deal of Harrington for Tyrus Thomas sounded bogus from the start. Besides Chicago drafts poorly but at least knows how to identify busts quickly. Gary

BTW many of the most productive plus/minus combinations have jeffries as a member

I believe that if the economy was not in such deep-bleep and so many NBA franchises were not in $-straights, Jefferies would be very trade-able, but these are different times with different priorities.
I think JJeff will be attractive to another team and or if Curry can come back and stay back he will be tradeable too.

Im with jason on this one. I like and I dislike JJ. As other posters have mentioned though, he's has a high basketball IQ he just doesn't have the physical tooks to play as a starter in this league or this team for that matter. "Intangibles," LOL yeah he shows them, but not consistently and Mike James sounds like a good play for us.
Pretty funny article by Chris Sheridan of ESPN written last night "Knicks closing in on 8th seed." The main idea of the article- bench Nate. Meanwhile we're now the 13th best team in the conference, not the 14th. I hope the idea of an 8th seed holds some water, somehow.
With that said. I don't know whats happening with our guard rotation. Douglas is getting way few minutes than I hoped and Nate is getting none. Nate has to play if we're gonna use him a sign and trade this summer or trade him at the deadline. Duhon had one good half the other night, but its all Duhon and Hughes getting the time.

I don't mind us giving more time to the veterans IF we are winning. The young guys will get their minutes as the season progresses and they progress. A lot of rookies come in an show flashes then hit the wall. Duhon knows he's a subatomic particle away from losing his job too, so for now let Tony Douglas be the understudy.
