I think that he is probably being honest. There are a lot of people in this country who are scared of NYC. There is absolutely no reason to think that the NBA is any different from the country in that respect. NYC has always been a tough place to play and Artest is just noting that.
Personally, I liked that he said that Lebron can handle NYC and that he should go there. I do believe that Artest would have loved to play for the Knicks and wants them to do well. It is a shame that we messed up in 1999. He would have been a great fit for that team.

What a joke the Gasol trade was. Minnesota did get more back for KG. KG is quite a few years older than Pau and not only did they land Jefferson, but also Telfair, Gomes who has emerged as a starter and that young talented kid Isiah liked-Gerald Green. They got additional pieces too but I forget who. Obviously Boston still got the best deal. Anyway- DENVER...Denver should have beat LA last year, it was poor passing and bad coaching that cost them at the end of games in the playoffs. Trevor Ariza also made good plays and capitalized on those mistakes. Kobe....I'm a Kobe hater. He may be they best in league...although I like Lebron and sometimes Wade better. But here is a great article I enjoyed last Spring by Bill Simmons...another Kobe hater. Anyway I don't think the Lakers played well enough to win the chip last year, and I think the Magic didnt play as well the Nuggets, they just made stupider mistakes. Anyway I still believe if Kobe couldnt win without Shaq- he needed 3 big men in Bynum Gasol and Odom, And help from opposing teams.
