This is what I call irony. As you may recall, I wrote a couple of articles for the Bleacher Report on the Knicks. So they asked me to write a couple for the Nets as well. Now, they have asked me to be their featured columnist for the Nets.
Who knows, maybe I can get a press pass out of this? ;D

Well on one hand congratulations da, being a featured columnist is a popular publication is something alot of great sportwriters would love to do. Hopefully your insight and writing on these boards all these years with great insight and vision will prove invaluable to that blog column.
With that said THE NETS? eck....... Well hopefully you enjoy yourself in your future endeavors and make you get a chance to be our eyes and ears from this blog to the players and GM's ears i suppose when theNets play the Knicks.
Just dont turn on us and become Jnets, lol. Congrats once again.

congrats david. but just remember, as ralph kramden once said: "norton, there's one thing that i have learned and that is 'be kind to the folks you meet on the way up....... because you will meet the same people on the way down.'"
what are your impressions of lopez, harris, and douglas-roberts?
i like lopez, not sold on harris, and think douglas-roberts has some game but maybe as a sixth man.

I like Lopez a lot. I wish the Knicks had drafted him last year instead of Gallinari. Lopez has excellent footwork and a really nice touch around the basket. He needs to work on his low post moves, but he has the necessary athleticism to do so. He already is a solid shotblocker and rebounder and works the pick and roll very well. In short, he is a future all-star in the NBA. Harris is very good. He reminds me of a bigger Tony Parker. Unfortunately for him, he does not have Popovich as his coach. However, he is very good at going to the hoop and drawing fouls. He is not a pure point, but you can win with him as the secondary option. I think that CDR is going to be a big time scorer. He is giong to put up 20 ppg this year. He is as instinctual a player as I have ever seen from a 2nd rounder. He really knows how to create space to get off a quality shot. He has a very good mid-range game which means that he can be a go to scorer in the 4th quarter. CDR right now has two problems. First, he is not a good free throw shooter and second, he is not a good defender. A quality 3 will score on him all day. However, he can certainly improve defensively to become adequate and become more consistent with his jump shot so that he can be reliable as a free throw shooter. BTW, Courtney Lee is a solid 2. He plays defense and has a consistent jumper. He can be a good role player like Kerry Kittles was for them. The Nets have no quality depth (except at PG) and they have no quality PF. So, they are going to lose a lot of games because they will have to go to their bench.
