ya get cabezas and rubio ya get "red-head" which is not so bad. Good one. Cabezas is a tough guy with lots of experience. Rubio still needs to grow some. I would love to have both. Is it possible? We shall see.

At this point, I am just waiting for the lottery to see where we will draft.

At this point, I am just waiting for the lottery to see where we will draft. DA... Do you know the date of our destiny with the ping-pong balls? I have no idea... I believe it is May 19th. We have a 2.8% percent chance at the #1 pick & 9.93% of a top 3 pick. I'd love a top 3 pick. Of course with our luck we'll probably end up 9th.

Now, if we do get a top 3 pick, do we take this Rubio kid or go big with my man Thabeet? I saw HoopsHype's mock having us take Tyreke Evans if we remain at #8. I like his size, but the blurb is that he tends to be a bit selfish.

Assuming that we do want Rubio, I thought he was going to be an expensive pickup. There is $2,000,000 buyout that has to be paid. Teams seeking to reduce expenses might not choose him, and perhaps he falls in draft position for that reason???

I think I read weeks ago that Rubio is willing to pay a portion of the buyout with his current team, personally. Obviously, his agent should be using this as leverage with potential NBA teams to avoid out of pocket costs to the kid. But thats interesting, maybe alot of teams might not be willing to absorb that expense causing him to drop

The Knicks are one of the few teams that have absorbed buyouts in the past. Remember the kid, Maciej Lampe, who NY drafted in 2003, I believe? He had a similiar buyout issue, but the Knicks just shelled out the bucks...
Wonder what happened to Lampe, anyway? Wonder what happened to Freddy Weis? And my pops just reminded me about the major faux pas with drafting Channing Frye over Andrew Bynum.
Boy, that just put me in a sour mood.

Lampe was traded to the Suns in the Marbury trade. I'll bet if you google him he's playing somewhere in the world.
as for frye over bynum, another case of "if grandma had balls she'd be grandpa"
I believe zeke went with the high IQ character 4 year college player over the young promising but volitile highschooler. At that time ( has much changed?) I don't think the knick faithful or management wanted to risk drafting another potential headache. The lakers could afford to do so and it's all history now...ACCEPT..Bynum is not getting major minutes in the post season and this could lead to an exit...one never knows anything except that hindsight is 20-20
