Pearl...
What do you think DD would command in the FA market of 2010. I'd give him the Max and then some. He was a workhorse with a shot and I only wish David Lee can reach Dave's level of play--meaning improving his ouside shot.
Dave is a true all-time Knick great. I hope he sends his team manna and ambrosia from the heavens.

Kenny:
DeBusschere would have received the max for certain. I believe in his prime, he earned $225,000. He would have been the perfect mentor to Lee, especially on the defensive end.
Interestingly, I believe Dollar Bill Bradley could help too, although I'm sure his schedule is to busy. For the past year, I am watching old tapes, especially the Knick-Celtic, double -overtime playoff win on Easter Sunday in 1973, it is fantastic. DD and Silas were really physical and beating on each other and Willis let Cowens and Silas know he was the "Captain", as he knocked Silas on his ass on one play. Bill Russell commented "first and 10 after that play".
Lee really could us a mentor at this stage of his career, why not bring Willis back as a special assistant to the Knick bigs.

Pearl...
Willis would be superb mentor to the Knicks big men, especially the less physical in the paint, Milicic. Once more, we see perfect fits for our heroes with Clyde working with the PGs, Willis working with our pivots, and it wouldn't kill Eddy Curry to get knocked on his fat ass by The Captain...
It has been many years but isn't Willis still involved in a front office spot with the Nets? That stings to even think about it. Reed should knock Sly the Mascot on his bum as well.
If we take the players from both of our title teams, the collective intelligence regarding basketball and life issues would surely benefit our precocious neophytes in so many ways. I can just see Clyde, who never picked up a technical foul in his career, having a profound influence on Nate Robinson's favorite activity besides driving with his license suspended...
Interesting about Bill Bradley. The one thing Bill did exceptionally well is moving without the ball on offense, another seemingly lost art amongst NBA players of this era. Bradley must have run around the court 56 miles a game, which is equal to the amount of miles Curry has run in his entire life. He also was the Knick with an excellent FT% throughout his career, something which could surely help Jared Jeffries as well as Edward C Brickhouse.
It disgusts me that the fringe players on all NBA teams earned what the all-time greats made in their heyday. I remember Frazier saying that he made around $50,000 a year until Willis got the first 6 figure contract in Knick history. Clyde then was given a salary raise to a whopping $75 K! Joe Crawford, the Knick 4th string guard, made more in his career than our HOF PG probably did in his entire Knicks career.

Ken and Pearl I've been watching some old games ,Dave classic shot from the corner, but also Pearl,Clyde and the captain,we had a great team then we beat great team Alcinder with Oscar we had rough comnpetition then.Clyde was so smart and the whole team played smart.I wonder why the current Knicks won't watch those games surely they can learn so much about team ball.
