Anyone know why Nate changed his jersey number?

He changed his number because Deion Sanders who was his childhood idol wore that number. Like Sanders, Nate grew up a multi sport athlete.

I was wondering the same thing, thinking it was the amount of years that Nate wanted to sign for, and yet Donnie relented. Maybe donning LJ's old nombre may get the Garden energized as it did when Larry hit that immortal 4 point play. Boy, the joint was rockin' on that play!
Sources say that Eddy Curry wants to add a zero to his number in honor of his real weight, not the fake weight reported by the media. It is such a telling sign that Donnie Walsh has yet to actually see Eddy in person to confirm the reputed 41 pound weight loss, although I do take Newsday's Barbara Baker's visual account to be authentic.
Curry should not be permitted to wear Oakman's numeral until he demonstrates a new 'tude. In fact, I wouldn't let him wear a numeral on his uniform until he is in condition.

Nate changed his number from #4 to #2 because that is the number he has always worn in high school and I believe college. Somebody had #2 when he first came to the Knicks(not sure who). He kept #4 for awhile even after that player left, but now he wants to wear #2. He was interviewed about that, around a month ago somewhere, as I remember.

At one point Fred Jones had #2, but that was two seasons ago. I can't recall who wore it before him.

Not like this is a big debatable deal but to add to that Iron, he wore #2 because of Deion Sanders being his childhood idol, "growing up", so you got it right and the reason WHY he wore the number back in the day, I got right and in that hopefully Jbaer got his answer.

Fred Jones? Jeff, you sure can remember these guys! I don't even recall a Fred Jones plaing on the Knicks.
Is it just me or is everyone wondering how Toney Douglas will react to giving his number up for LeBron? Actually, I would be surprised if Douglas' name wasn't just scotch-taped over "James" on the actual fabric.
I read a very nice article on one of the Knick walk-ons, who is still on the team--Gosh, I cannot recall his name, but the Knicks didn't even pay for his hotel room, meals, or transportation when he first got to preseason. Meanwhile this poor guy may actually make NY's squad--it isn't Chris Hunter or Joe Crawford--and has shown the grit and detemination to pursue his dream.
Maybe a 6'11, 317 pound center may want to take a page out of this kid's life?

Jeez, Ken--it wasn't that long ago.
I can't remember everyone who played for us in the last decade, but I remember the ones who played well enough to help us win--and were traded or let go for that very reason.

LOL! My memory is fading, guys! I usually take pride in remembering archaic information, like the fact that former Knick, Ticky Burden, was arrested for armed robbery several years ago, that Sly Williams, ex-Knick, was arrested for kidnapping, and that former Knick, Brad Lohous--I think I spelled his name wrong, was arrested for physically assaulting his wife.
Why can't I pinpoint Fred Jones? I must have been in my self-imposed hibernation, sort of like the professional career track that former Knick, but good guy, John Rudd's, took.
I apologize for not being a lord of the rings, since it has been nearly 37 years since NY won one of those...

Ah, yes, Marcus Landry. Now that was inexusable for me not to have jotted his name down since the article was very good. I am rooting for Marcus and Chris Hunter to make the squad, simply because Joe Crawford is not my favorite referee and who needs another shoot first guard, when you have Larry Hughes and Nate Robinson?
Hunter was the one center, who the Knicks did not play in that last game of the season versus the Nets. Apparently Saer Sene's forays to the paint and blowing point blank dunks, didn't bode well for our ex-former Knick center with that 7'8 wingspan.

I think Mo Taylor wore #2 before Fred Jones...Maybe Van Horn before that and of course. LJ. Anyway I'm hoping for Landry to make the squad too. I wanted Sun Yue, hoping he was a sleeper but no dice. What I really want is a Jared Jeffries trade! I read a good article on espn the other day about Miami having the cap room for nearly 2 max players OTHER than Wade next summer, with NY and NJ 2nd and 3rd in space. Gotta dump Jared, use Cutino to do it if you have to Donnie. Lets see how we play against Philly tonite.
