It's a done deal. King James is a Knick, barring a catastrophic injury running into the Big Oaf. The Cavs really messed up their cap situation and cannot help LeBron like the Knicks can, in terms of getting an additional elite player to join the King...which will occur once Jeffries and/or Curry are gone via trade and buyout.

James keeps saying the right things. He loves NY. He sends his personal assistant to monitor Knicks practices. Akron is his hometown and that is what he is loyal to and not Cleveland. The list goes no but James is setting up the fans of the Cavs for his departure.

I pray your right Irish. NY needs an iteration of old days when Earl the Pearl Monroe was acquired when people thought it impossible the Bullets best player for awhile could ever end up here and team with Reed and Frazier and company to make two memorable championship runs.
I will be highly dissapointed as a fan of his if he was teasing us this whole time and planned to sign with New Jersey/Brooklyn or Cleveland all this time.
Next summer is the summer of truth. Put it this way, and I know its a business decision and all, but I will dislike(HATE is a strong word) Lebron WAY more than I did Tim Hardaway and Reggie Miller and Pat Riley if he spurns US for another team.
Its his perogative but he should'nt build this all up to not join us.
How many of you understand where I'm coming from. Joe Johnson and Bosh or Wade would be nice dont get me wrong ,but if it isnt Lebron, it wont be the same.

Jason...
Nearly every business mogul interviewed about LeBron James' professional basketball career path, expressed that King James would be a moron NOT to sign with the Knicks. I think he is sending out enough messages to let the Cleveland fans pick up on the fact that you can win three or four titles as a Cav, but it means nothing when you compare winning one title as a Knick.
James knows that Cleveland screwed up with their inability to lure a max FA next year, when Danny Ferry actually admitted that they messed up in dotting the "I"'s and crossing the "T"s on ridiculous contracts. The Cavs are an old, aging team, featuring a great center who is 37 years old, and his back-up, who plays the game as if he were like Brian Cardinal in a YMCA pick-up league. Trevor Ariza spurned the Cavs as did Ron Artest. In 2 years, the Cavs will be swimming in the basement with their selfish PG and their raggedy line-up.
Meanwhile, the Knicks young core will have added some key players via free agency and through player development. James will be the NBA first billionaire via endorsements, salary, and opportunity. Cleveland can offer James dollars. This guy wants far more than that. He wants the Big Apple, and Donnie Walsh will see to it that NOTHING will stand in the team's way of signing LeBron and another elite player.
BTW, let's see just how good Miami does with their one gun attack. D-Wade would run naked up to NY if he had a chance to play with the Knicks. Just think, after King James is a Knick, Chris Paul is just around the corner. You think the Lakers are loaded now? In 2 years, the Knicks will have a monster, bad-ass team. Donnie has cleared out so much cap room and is almost at the point where he can sign two elite players next year. Yet, when Jeffries and Curry fall of the payroll, he can give CP3 the max contract he merits, based on those two salaries alone.
I see a parade, already.

I am not as much of a fan of Joe as some other folks, and Johnson not signing an extension is a totally different can of worms than Lebron James not signing an extension. Johnson is certainly an all-star player, but we are talking all-star, not an elite superstar. I have more of a chance of signing with the NJ Pets than James does. And, there is no way this new owner is gonna bring this sad-sack franchise to my town. Brooklyn is a Knicks town and I have personally spoke to about 700 of my neighbors, about 20 of them actually admitted that they want the Nets in Brooklyn--only so they can see the Knicks more times at home and for the distinct reason of being able to walk up to the court-side seats, where the only 3 Net fans will be sitting. I hope the Knicks can buy-out Sly The Mascot's contract and ship him to Minnesota for the rights to Ricky Rubio. David Kahn would do this deal.
