This just in, the Knicks have signed Gabe Pruitt 6'4" 170 lbs. That is awfully skinny for 6'4". Played for the Celtics and UCLA, but don't really know much about his skills. Is he a point guard or another "tweener"? Can he shoot? Gary, you ought to know something about him.

I looked up his stats...........1 year/8min per game /2points per game/ 2:1 assists to turnover ratio (.8 to .4, not sure that is enough body of work to be meaningful). Played in 47 games. I guess he got bumped out of the rotation by Stephon, late in the season. Says he is a point guard. We shall see. Drafted 32 overall 2 drafts ago. 29% 3 point shooter.

You're right it was USC, not UCLA. Got my SoCal schools confused.

Interesting that the signed Pruitt, but more interesting that the T Wolves just bought Sessions for 4 years, so between Ramon and Flynn looks like the rights to Rubio might be back in play.
and so it goes, or does it?

I think Rubio becomes a Knick at some point in time, 2011, or 2012 probably. It is going to be a long waiting game, but I guess that is how you build a team. I just wish we had a 1st round draft pick next year. It is a good thing that the NBA doesn't allow teams to trade away two first round picks in a row, or Isiah would have traded 2011 too. The team sure is young now with the exceptions of Hughes and Harrington. Even Eddy is still young. This is the year to find out which of these young guys are true building blocks to complement whoever we can sign in the summer of 2010.

Glazer might have to update his list to skinny people,Bol,Pruitt,LOL I like drafting skinny guys because they can add weight and get stronger. It is always easier to add weight than to lose it.

I like drafting in-shape athletes, and when we simply look at NY's recent history of player acquistions, we can see the failure rate of Mike Sweetney, Jerome James, JigglySpoon, and the horror of Eddy Curry's last season, who I still hold out some hope for. Still, DA's point of not drafting, and I'll add, trading for or signing heavyweights, is vital to remember.
Insofar as losing or gaining weight is concerned, I look at the changes Gallo made throughout last season. Despite injury, he managed to add some muscle to what was a skinny frame. I think Danilo can stand to even put on some more muscle which he will need to ensure that his back remains healthy.
As we know, muscle weighs more than fat, which had no bearing whatsoever on Eddy gaining his weight. Losing 40 pounds since May (according to Alan Hahn of Newsday) is not an easy task, and Curry reportedly weighs 318 now. Let's hope he lost the fat and developed some muscle tissue. I would love to see Edward return to being an effective player--not only for trade value, but to give the Knicks a scoring low block player.
I recall that Darko Milicic wasn't exactly a physical specimen when he first came into the league, and now he looks like he filled out in a positive way.
