basketball.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/61345/20090828/jackson_wants_out_of_golden_state/Nothing really solid here, just news that Stephen Jackson was in New York with Al Harrington and stated that he does not want to return to Golden State next season and the Warriors have been made aware. Jackson reportedly listed the Cavs, any team in Texas and the Knicks as preferred destinations. The timing of this reveal makes you wonder, in New York with Al. However, Im certain Donnie Walsh would not be interested for reasons known and the fact that Jackson has 3 years remaining on his contract.

Another low 40%ish shooter. Plus he is 31 and counting this year he has 4 more years on his contract. Thanks but no thanks. ; )

He's contract is an albratrose,I really like him as a player but he could explode off the field any second,I'll pass as well, maybe if I can't trade Eddie before the deadline I might do it for Eddie straight up but I would exhaust all possible trades before I do that as a last resort trade. He is a great player,he reminds me alot like Al but a better passer and defender, both good shooters ,basketball IQ in questions at times on court, but Jackson is better all round.

Stephon Jackson: 09-10 7.76m; 10-11 8.45mil; 11-12 9.26mil 12-13 10.92mil Jared Jeffries: 6.5m 10-11 6.9mil Eddy Curry 10.5m 10-11 11.3mil This is the comparison of salaries. Now the question is would you trade either one or both for Stephon Jackson. For Jared Jeffries it would cost the Knicks around 1-1.5mil in 09-10 and 10-11. Still leave room to sign one max free agen in 10-11 but would kill all other chances after that. Jackson would be the other star signing. For Eddy Curry the Knicks would save money in 09-10 and 10-11 of around 3-3.5mil. It would hamper the ability to re-sign players like Chandler and Gallinari, when their contracts are due for renegotiation. So far I am just looking at the money aspect of trading for Jackson, and it looks marginal at best. I would say for Jeffries alone not worth it. For Eddy Curry marginally do-able. I think only for both(fat chance of that) would I do it. As far as Jackson the player, he has both issues and skills and can play 3 positions: PG, SG and SF. Not sure I want to see him at PG in this system however. He slots in well @ SG with Chandler moving back to SF and sharing that with Harrington, bumping Gallinari up to PF along with Lee and Hill. This deal could actually "crowd-up" the front court some. Age is somewhat of a factor since we will be stuck with him when he is 35. I think he shoots OK, is a danger from 3, plays decent defense, brings intensity(good and bad), and would probably bring a certain cohesiveness to a team searching for that commodity. If his contract was only 3 years, I might do it, but 4 years.............UGH. My conclusion is that I would DO it for both Curry and Jeffries, would reluctantly do it for Curry alone and would not do it for Jeffries alone. For Curry and Jeffries, I might even throw in Hughes and Mobley's contract. I've seen Jackson play some pretty good ball, and sometimes he seems to dissappear(not too often, but once in awhile). On this we have to trust in Donnie because he knows Jackson well, having had him in Indiana all those years. Certainly if LeBron comes in 2010, either Chandler of Jackson winds up on the bench, unless Jackson takes over point guard. Do we really want that? Signing Jackson would create a lot of problems down the road. Acquiring Jackson looks good if the Knicks wind up with say Amare or Bosh, not as good if they wind up with LeBron. Unless all the stars align themselves perfectly, I have to pass on Stephon Jackson.

Thanks, but we don't need this head case.

Guys, I was in no way proposing that I want Stephen Jackson on this team. There hadnt been any new posts in a couple days and I found the tibit on RealGM. And yes, Jackson brings MUCH baggage to any team he plays for. I think of him in the same light as Marbury and Iverson. And I stated that Walsh would not be interested due to their past in Indiana, as well as the contract issue.
