In this dark Knick decade D Lee has been one of the few players to root for probably my favorite Knick since the glory days, since Oak.
That said, I don't really care about his frustration about how many millions he will be paid to play basketball this year or how he "now understands". To me that's information that should be private. I guess the business of basketball is bigger than the game (see the cap), but darn I am tired of hearing millionaires bitch about their financial sitch'

What amazes me is how open Dave is about what NY intends to do with him...I agree with Mouse that this sort of information should be kept private, although it does add fuel to the Ricky Rubio rumors, which have reached epic proportions.
As Rubio can only be traded for a player who makes his rookie scale salary, NY may have to take back an unwanted player if, as an example David Lee is the principle trading chip which Walsh uses to acquire the best PG no one has ever actually seen play live. Unless David's base year compensation status actually allows an even up deal for Ruby, who will be making less than three million dollars next year, which is crucial to the Knicks salary cap in 2010.
Or maybe there is a three-team deal out there?

Again I will conjecture to say that for every article about Lee's contract, reporters (Berman) called Lee and asked;
REPORTER; Davd can you comment on your status with the knicks?"
Lee; "Not much to say, I hope to sign a big new contract soon".
(days weeks later) REPORTER ..."David don't you feel disrespected by the Knicks for not having signed you yet?
LEE; "My agent is working on things, I don't know about frustrated but..ummmmm"
REPORTER: What's going on with you and the Knicks? Is Nate as frustrated as you are?
LEE: "that's likely, I have not spoken to Nate about it but I know we both love NY, but we'd both like to settle the business sooner than later and get on with preparing ourselves for next season wherever that might be"
REPORTER; "Do you understand what is going on with you and the Knicks David?"
LEE: "No, not yet and it's getting on my nerves, or maybe it's reporters asking me and writing about it that gets on my nerves"
REPORTER; David do you feel better now that Donnie has told you about his plans for you and the Knicks?
LEE; Waiter!
