I drink coke and smoke Newports by the pack. Either the shorts or the 100s would be fine. I like Oxys 80 mgs, but Dilaudid is okay--gives me a freakin' headache ; ) I'll buy the cappuccino and supply the necessary painkillers. I'm actually a generous fellow. I liked Rory Sparrow, but Eisley was one of he worst PGs of all-time next to Charlie Ward. Do you recall, and if memory serves it was Layden, who asked the Knicks coach to play Eisley since it would boost his self-esteem? That was the time of Frank Williams and that trio of PGs, was perhaps our worst bunch in NBA lore. Do you really want me to take off the Curry picture? Maybe I'll put Ramon Sessions' pic in there, instead, LOL!

Today's Ramon Sessions bulletin is that the Bucks will only match up to 3mil per, as reported by Alan Hahn @ Newsday. That leaves Donnie in the driver's seat and can now offer less than the full MLE, if we wants to gamble against the "phantom" third unnamed team that is supposedly interested in Sessions. Today is the day that Jason Williams works out for the Knicks at their training facility also. Still not sold on the Sessions signing, but hope Williams impresses enough to get signed for a year. I still think Donnie should hold out for Rubio, or even better somehow get Tyreke Evans.

I still think Donnie should hold out for Rubio, or even better somehow get Tyreke Evans. Ironman... I just finished reading that piece by Alan Hahn, which make me wonder why this Sessons' signing is taking so long. Even if the Clippers, who were rumored to be interested in Ramon or this mysterious "third team" that Chubby Wells made reference to, are interested in Sessions, it appears that $4,000,000 per year would seal the deal. Donnie did appear amenable to offering Sessions "a large portion" of the mid-level, so one would think that NY can get Ramon for a bit less than $4 million per. Apparently, and this was also on RealGM, that the Knicks intentions with Jason Williams are to trade him, if he has any of his old gusto left or to do as you said, and sign him to a one year deal which would negate the need for Nate Robinson. According to what I read, Robinson would be allowed to walk away from NY if Williams flashes some of his old form. I, for one, do not think signing Ramon Sessions, would interfere in Donnie's attempts to acquire Rubio. In fact, if NY did manage to get Ricky in here this year, our PG situation would be quite impressive. Rubio could either start or split time with Ramon, and Douglas is already being looked upon as a reserve point. If Sessions signs, Duhon and Douglas back him up and possible a sign and trade involving Nate Robinson or Chris Duhon and J-Dubs going to Minnesota for Ricky Rubio becomes an actual possibility. Nate and/or Duhon and Jason can provide back-up PG duties for Jonny Flynn, who expects to play 50 minutes a game anyway. I would expect Nate to get the $6,000,000 one year deal and Dubs signing for the vet's exception which would give Ricky a salary of $7,000,000 per, and he can buyout his own contract. Now, that's a steamy headline! As an aside, I am sure you read that David Lee and agent Mark Bartlestein have stated that Lee would accept a one year offer which would presumably be a sign and trade, which I think Hahn also mentioned in another article. I would be jumping out of my skin if NY had a sign and trade worked out with Chicago for Tyrus Thomas, who is a monster PF.

thank you Ken for realizing (i hope) that I indeed do love you and your posts, even that giant burger that makes me want one every time I see it.
Yer on, I will supply the Newport Loosy's and the Coca Cola if you bring the oxy-frappachino, we have so much in common we (though I can't smoke) we could talk knicks all day or just drool together (oxy-frappe side FX)
GET RUBIO!

There have been so many servicable yet mediocre PG's in NY, i really think that NY is due for a special PG, not special like Marbury who should ride on the short bus, but special as in GREAT.
Like so many in the nba I have not seen enough Sessions (a few games) to get too excited. If he has such an upside why couldn't the bucks trade him? Why Ridnour over Sessions? etc
anyways...back to work

Mouse... Of course, I love you and your posts too, my dear colleague. We go back a very long time, my friend, and some of my favorite dialogs were the Clarence Weatherspoon discussions that always made me smile. Of course, we are also NY brethren, and I know that you do have a great heart... Oh, about drooling. I do require a bib, just in case we do have that cup of tea we talked about some time ago. Don't ever smoke cigarettes, M. I am coming up on my 45th year of heavy smoking and my health is slowly slipping away--I do like to imbibe a little coca-cola as well as an Oxy-frappe now and then and hey, I never thought about a day at Prospect Park dedicated to my favorite cause--meaning Eddy Curry. I was a bit of a drama queen when it came to my reaction, but, in the end, I would never want us to not be comrades. We love the Knicks, and I know that you made a very salient point about the media's bi-polar coverage of the Sessions issue. It is simply maddening to me that Minnesota has Rubio's rights although can you imagine David Lee in a sign and trade for the red Ruby? God Bless No Salary Cap!

interesting (or at least new tidbit) on knicks blog from an NBA scout stating that Sessions won't work in the D Ant system because he can't shoot..then why would walsh be after him?
this unnamed scout also was coveting Hill, calling him a #1-3 draftpick.
Not to dwell on unnamed sources but here we have some opinions I have yet to hear.
Hopefully Walsh will make a series of moves we actually understand and can appreciate now or soon.

I wonder about sessions long range shooting also. My understanding is that D"antoni is much higher on sessions than Walsh is and that Donnie doesn't want to use any post 2009 money. However even though a tony parker doesn't have 3 pt range he'd be pretty effective in mike's system

Actually, Mouse, I have heard from some Bucks fans say that Sessions' outside shot is pretty bad, which was one reason he never wrested the starting position from Luke Ridnour. I know Bill mentioned Ramon's putrid 3-point shooting percentage, but the FG total was only 34... This is a good point (no pun intended) to think about when recruiting a PG into this system which demands great outside shooting. One thing about Chris Duhon. He can hit the three. So can Nate. However, with the Bucks likely not going above $3 million to retain Sessions, Walsh may need to strike no matter what, since Ramon is a pass first PG and can work on his shot. Sessions is sort of in the "David Lee" category of wanting a much higher salary and no one else is dishin' it! I also recall an NBA pundit saying J-Hill was a top 5 pick in the draft. I know our needs were PG and still are, but if Hill can be that "Amare-like" player he has been described as, I will never ever covet thy neighbors' Sessions again!

Interesting side discussions on this thread...
BTW, I am on a diet and lost 26lbs since returning from vacation on 7/11 and I just quit smoking last Friday. Cold turkey. I know all this will be better for me down the road but right now I just want to kill something. ; ) Then either eat it or smoke it. ; )

Bill... Congrats on the diet and most importantly, the smoking...I continue to sit, drink coca cola and smoke like a fiend. Ah, it appears that Merc and I have some things in common I lost over 115 pounds in the past year, which I think I told you, Bill. It was due to illness, but my friend, just take it slow with the dieting and focus on not smoking. I tried so many times to stop over the last 45 years, and nearly made it this year... Instant Karma coming towards ya!
