.....summer league .
First off as I noted after their first game this team was not going to win many games (they won none). The reasoning is they had only one front court scorer (Hill) and a weak second team. They often got aced in the fourth quarter because of their lack of depth.
Heres how some of the main Knicks players did in their short 5 game NBA pro summer league at Las Vegas...
Jordan Hill-14.4 points per game, .438 shooting %, 8.2 Rebounds per game, 0.6 assists per game Hill often didnt have much help underneath and teams collapsed on him resulting in several of his shots being blocked. But he showed good athleticism and fit well into the run and gun scheme.
Marcus Almond-14.0 points per game, .435 shooting %, 2.2 Rebounds per game, 1.0 assists per game
Had his moments and is a consideration for SG, but needs to improve his D.
Tskitishvilli-12.4 points per game, .488 shooting %, 5.0 Rebounds per game, 0.6 assists per game.Tended to play Euro ball and hoist 3's on offense but did look good on help blocks on D. Could be a bench player and spot specialist for the Knicks.
Joe Crawford-9.6 points per game, .465 shooting %, 3.0 Rebounds per game, 0.5 assists per game . He was imporessive in spurts and might get more looks. He was pretty good for the Lakers in spot duty.
Toney Douglas-9.0 points per game, .275 shooting %, 3.8 Rebounds per game, 7.0 assists per game . Horrible shooting but looked good when dispensing the ball, driving it up court, and on defense. Good potential but he is not a good shooter at the PG position yet.
Some other PAC-10 kids the Knicks were interested in at some time or other..
Darren Collison-18.5 points per game, .449 shooting %, 2.3 Rebounds per game, 3.8 assists per game
Chase Buddinger-17.8 points per game, .687 shooting %, 2.0 Rebounds per game, 0.8 assists per game
Demar DeRozan-17.0 points per game, .493 shooting %, 4.8 Rebounds per game, 1.2 assists per game
Taj Gibson-13.0 points per game, .550 shooting %, 10.0 Rebounds per game, 0.5 assists per game
The LV league is very much a guard dominant, low level of defense league.
