Some interesting names including some first round duds. Obviously most of my attention will be on Jordan Hill and Toney Douglas as they figure to be major components of the 2009-10 NY Knicks.
Some other names interest me.
Morris Almond. A big, sweet shooting shooting guard with impressive 3 point range and a decent all around game. He averaged almost 27 ppg his senior year at Rice and he has the ability to mix up his game. He didn't do much for the Utah Jazz but that may be in part due to the game of Ronnie Brewer, Jr. who is a good offensive player and superlative defender which endears him to Jerry Sloan. We tried to draft him in 2007 and Walsh tried to trade for him last year. He's a prototype offensive big guard with skills that are a fit for D'Antoni.
Patrick Ewing, Jr. and David Noel are peas in a pod. Both were the best athletes of the summer pre-draft camps in their respective years. If Walsh is looking for his next Shawn Marion type one of these guys, depending on who shows the most skills, could be his man.
A very interesting name to me was Yaroslav Korolev. He came into the draft 2 years ago way too early but he has size, athleticism and a huge array of skills for a big man. More a small forward than a post player he is a great passer and excellent shooter who can get to the basket. The son of a Soviet basketball coach he seems to have the whole package but he was rushed into the NBA too soon. It should be interesting to see if he has developed some consistency.
Obviously Sene interests me but Nikoloz Tskitshivli is another retread who has skills but has been a bust to date. Maybe this is his last shot but NY could use a center and he has a shot to make an impression.
