Ah Ken, I'm so sad to hear that a good optimistic man has taken a hit. But I believe that no matter the odds, real men can overcome them and you are a real man. You caught it early, you have a good medical team behind you, and the prayers of all of us on this board. If there's anything I can do to help you in this fight, just let me know. As our new Knicks will prove their worth at season's end, you will be there victorious in your battle, enjoying the fruits of Knick victories. Hang in there, the best is yet to come.
Steve aka Kman

Jason makes a great point about getting together, face to face. It will take some coordinating, however, I believe we would all enjoy meeting each other.
Let's start kicking Jason's idea around and make it happen one day soon.

Kenny ,to have a friend like you is everything to me,you are one rare find,I never meet you in person but I consider you one of my favorite people on this planet.I know if their is a way to beat this we will find it if I could be of any help please let me know.I know in the coming years we will have new cures for cancers,if you can hang in there their will be a cure for yours.I have no need to tell you to be positive for their are few more people as positive thinking as you and me,I know you will survive and enjoy our new Knick squad.Jobs has the same cancer and he's surviving, the company DNDN ,has some very promising results for cancer fighting and I'm sure that the type you have will be their next agenda. They virtually solved the prostate cancer and their cure will be tailored to other types soon. This is just another hurdle in life we will overcome, best wishes your friend Rene. My tears are for fear but my mind is set for survival buddy get well.

Sounds good Pearl I'm in for getting together ,me and Dave got together at a tailgate party for Giants posters it sure could work here,my place won't be ready for 2 and half months so I'm not sure we want to wait that long to get together there, but getting together sure would be nice to put faces to names.Maybe we can coridinate with those that live out of state because they will have the hardest commute but I'm ready anyday, anywhere in the tristate area.

Rene, are you getting together for this year's tailgate? We are going to the Cowboys game.
As far as getting together, we should all aim for a Knicks game of course to go see together.

Did we get 'Melo yet? ; )
Just came back from camping in upstate NY and let me tell you all that if I didn't have my trusted tent-mate, it would have been cold as a witch's t-t up there. I think that fall is coming faster than ever and we will be seeing our Knicks sooner than we think.
All is well on this end, guys. I think it would be a wonderful idea to get tickets to the Knicks for those of us who can make it to the most hallowed arena on the planet.
Personally, I would mind seeing Stat bitchslap Bosh, Part 1...

I have a friend who works for Cablevision and she tells me that the nosebleeds for that first game of Knicks vs. Heat are like almost $200 a pop. Maybe a Knicks versus Nuggets game or Knicks versus Suns. To see the reaction we give Melo when he comes here for the first time or the reaction when Amare goes against his old team. Might be able to STILL fit everyone to those games.

I think that the best way to think about a get together is to think about when would be a good time for the out of area folks to come up and then see who can make it. Then we try to buy a group of tickets to go to see a game that fits.

We will probably all be talking about the Knicks anyway--so maybe seat location isn't as much of a priority as I first thought?

BTW, thanks to Steve and Rene for their inspiring posts...I've been okay thus far, so pretend I am Chris Bosh going up against Amar'e and bitch-slap my ass--only not that hard, okay?

God Bless You Ken. You probably haven't noticed my absence from the board these past 10 days or so. Because I am sort of a minor player in this scene. That is because I had my own medicall emergency these past 10 days. I had to undergo open heart surgery, and there were complications, and I barely made back. It took two trips to the CV-ICU before I was stable enough to procede. I had quintuple by-pass surgery, and then they discover a minor whole in my heart. I am home now and on the way to recovery. Genetics bit me in the ass big-time, as i eat right, exercise right etc. I hope to make a full recovery, but it will take months.

My goodness, Ironman. Take care of yourself brother. You truly have gone through some of the worst and come out better than before. The thing I love about you and Ken is that you two are fighters. Fighters dont have a predestined expiration date. I applaud your courage old friends. Ironman be well and prosperous. Ken be well and prosperous.

I did notice your absence, comrade, but had no idea what you were going through medically. You are no minor player, my friend, on any scene and unfortunately you bring a point about genetics playing a very huge part in what happens to us, when we reach a certain age. I am lucky enough to have not had heart trouble to this point, and by all rights, my prior lifestyle should have had an effect. I suppose that despite your caring for yourself in the manner in which you do, you still "got hit" by the gene pool. I am so sorry that these past two weeks have been. I know that lying around can be a bitch, but I am a man of faith now, and believe that you shall make a full recovery if you do what your MDs tell you to you to do. After all, you drafted Jerome Jordan for us, so we owe you our big man future Please take it easy, as you recover from the trauma of this process. I know many people who have had open heart surgery decades ago, and are 100% healthy. Think about the advances in medical science since then. You will be fine, comrade. May God Bless both of us, and trust me, having faith does go a long way in how we move our mountains, as I heard while listening to Joel Olsteen on Channel 5 (NYC--Sunday @ 9:00 AM) last week. You have a big heart, I know. Just stay well and let your comrades know how you are... Always the Best, Ken
