Thanks for the vote Bill. I will do my best to continue to display integrity and make the board as engaging and fun as ever. And welcome Docz to the Knicks message board.

I am very pleased by the participation on this board but I would like to expand it. Any member can invite whoever they wish to participate on this board. They can be friends, co-workers or on another board or forum. We should be looking for good basketball fans (they don't have to be Knicks fans ; ) who are knowledgeable and civil. That last part is important as we don't want hotheads, ego maniacs, kooks or people with an agenda. In other words half the old AOL gang. Just email this link to those you may deem worthy: knicksknacks.proboards.com/index.cgi?Once new members have signed up the rules are pretty simple. Be nice. Be respectful. Be humble. The basketball area is for basketball with an occasional dalliance in women and other sports. I propose a simple system for "managing" a growing board. First we form an executive committee. I pick Ken, Jason, Mouse and Babylon. I pick them because not only are they great posters but they are also the four most prolific posters behind me. Second, we all know how to use the EXALT link to give Karma. If anybody steps out of line use the SMITE link BUT send a private message to me telling me why you did it and I will keep a record. I think 5 SMITES (or whatever number y'all decide) gets somebody warned. 5 more gets them banned for say 30 days and a repeated habit of bad behavior gets you banned. I can track IP addresses so if somebody gets banned and wants to come back I shall give them a mighty smite from the gitgo. To send a Private Message just click on a member's name and it takes you to an info page. On the left side under the member's name is a PM icon. Some of us also have email icons so make sure you use the right one. A Private Message is only seen by the person you send it to and is only accessed through this board. If you look at the top of any page it should say "Hey whatever your screen name is, you have X messages and Y are new". My PM link is: knicksknacks.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=viewprofile&user=irish2u2Please post your thoughts, ideas or opinions about this idea. I love the people we have here now but it gets more dynamic the larger we get. Bill... One idea that I do have would be to recommend putting this first post of yours, as a "sticky", meaning that it remains at the top for all of the new-comers. For example, Doc Z, who I assume is Dr. Zed for the old AOL boards, knows how an MB is supposed to be, yet new folks that we wish to incorporate into this forum's expansion, may want to know the very basic guidelines which all of the current members understand. Personally, there are a few old AOL posters over the years who may have become so disgruntled with whatever it is that continues to happen over there, who, may, in fact, relish the opportunity to become part of this MB. I can name a few, off the top of my head, that have disappeared, simply because of the idiocy that I recall. I've even had private e-mails with some of them prior to this board's creation, and have a feeling they may wish to re-engage with the other class acts we have here. After all, we managed to get Mayo back for a spell, but I am thinking about Eric, Iggy, and some others that some here may also know and wish to invite. I am thrilled with our existing comrades, and perhaps we can, as a collective, make this place even better. I think that all of the current folks all have shown that they know how to post in a respectful manner, no matter if there is passionate debate which evolves. We definitely want that to continue with any new members who may come on board. All of our comrades have been self-governing, which proves that cogent, on-topic (except for our indulgences in other "interests" e.g. Sophia), and respect for every person, are basic. No one likes being bashed, flamed, or called racial epithets, the latter which has no place on any sports board, anyway. If I may also add, self-awareness is always key to success in one's life. No one is perfect, and sometimes we get caught up in the passion of something unrelated, and may write something out of character. I know that I have done this on AOL and on here, but I strive to make amends as quickly as I can to that person. This is why I am 100% with you on our brother's humbleness being a quality which has made this board better than any AOL board I have ever experienced. I am very excited about the future of this message board for many reasons. One, it has an important place in my life right now, as I do have that amount of time to be on it due to my current medical status. Two, the support, friendship, and words of wisdom that everyone here has given me, has been overwhelmingly beautiful, to say the least. Three, I love the Knicks and I love talking about them with other basketball fans. They do not have to be Knick fans exclusively, for some here can appreciate what other squads are doing, too. Bill, you need to take credit for creating this wonderful oasis, and as Dave said, you will always be the main man. It goes without saying that you have my unyielding support in making this creation, even bigger, better, and more active than it already is. I'm sure that everyone here feels the same way, mate.

Eric Holzman and Jimmy Quinones, now calls himself Jimmy JC or Jimmy Coleman post on the Knicks Fix Facebook site, sorta connected to Alan Hahn and Newsday. They got a few good posters there and few nasty ones(besides Jimmy). I haven't visited the old AOL site lately, so I won't comment on that. Besides Mayo and Eric, not sure anyone else can add to our excellent board. There were JNets and the racists on both sides, and the Applaud(the sky is always falling) guy. I think we've got about 80% or better of the desireable and knowledgeable and enthusiastic Knicks fans. Negativity without reason is at an all-time low, and I was one of the so-called dark-siders. For the record in case you kool-aid drinkers forget, the starting five were; Terror, Babylon, Mouse, DK and myself. Times have changed and now most of us are cautiously optimistic in varying degrees. We even seem to have acquired a new member previously unknown to us in DocZ, who while a little radical, has interesting things to say. I'd say we could use a few more members, but we are doing quite well with the 15-20 that we do have contributing varied viewpoints as needed. Since this Knicks team, in I would guess all of our views is an incompleted project, we will still have some good things to debate. It's all good!

We preferred the more accurate term(instead of dark-sider) of realists. I'd like to add.

You may prefer that term Mr Ironman but we " kool-aid drinkers" shall continue the dark side references.

Hey all you f*ckheads? Miss me? I'm still alive ha ha. Last year posted on the Knicks Fix, before the draft that my sleeper of the draft was Josh Okogie and that the knicks should trade down and secure the #20 to draft him. If the Knicks would just listen to me they would be a lot better off. SG problem would be solved for years to come. Okogie is a complete player. Super defender and pretty good shot. Other observations: If the Knicks sign KD, it is my belief that he will insist on a Tobi/Bobi-like deal just as the 76ers were forced to make. His bestie on the Warriors is Quinn Cook. They always sit next to each other on the bench. They have a history that goes all the way back to the Baltimore youth leagues where KD was his mentor.Cook is undersized at 6'1" but the ex but undrafted Dukie defends(always over the screen rather than under) and can shoot lights out. I'll go with Tacko Fall as this year's sleeper. Trades I would make: Noah Vonleh for Jordan Bell, in a heartbeat. DSJ is close to worthless, and Ntilikina not far behind. Kevin Knox for Alphonso McKinnie if they throw in Kevon Looney. The Warriors center of the future is Damiaon Jones, injured early in the season, but he has made appearances in both Portland games. I would love to see the Alphonso/Alonzo show. If one of them were to marry the actress named Daniele Alonso even better. Other observations: The best broadcasting duo(sorry Walt and Mike) is Bob Fitzgerald and Jim Barnett. Their facility and use of "analytics" is light years ahead of anyone else. Best side line reporter? She's beautiful and highly intelligent................Roz Gold-Onwude.
