...before the draft. I just caught up with this issue...A couple of things Knicks fans may be interested by..
They Had Jordan Hill going 4th and Rubio 2nd. No mention of Toney Douglas.
They asked Jordan Hill "3 reasons why teams should take you". He answered:
1. "I bring atheticism and size. I can block shots, and I can grab rebounds. Thts just something I just knew how to do, more as instinct. But once we get the rebound, I am off-I can run the floor. I dont think there are too many big guys that can run the floor the way I do.
2. I'm Hungry (oh no not another Eddy Curry -LOL)-I've got a lot to prove. I read what people say about me, some people focus on the negatives. That motivates me. It makes me want to stay later in practice and get better and better. I am only just getting started. I kind of bounced around in different schools when I was younger, and I only started playing basketball late in high school. I play like I have a lot to make up for.
3. My Cocah sleeps at night-I am not one who is big on gong out on the town or aything like that. I am a small town guy. I am not the kind of guy that the coach or the General Mamanger is going to be lying awake at night wondering what kind of trouble I am in. My focus is basketball.
AS to Rubio they say Blake Griffen is a sure thing and Rubio as a likely star but not sure, yet. One reason is that the top Euro gaurds in the last 5 drafts- Goran Dragic, Marco Beliinelli, Thabo Sefolosha, Roko Okic and Sasha Vujavic have not made their mark yet.
