I'm happy that we didn't get raped by jet dandy Ainge, and I'm very happy that we have all of our youngsters and picks. I wasn't happy about getting a ballcentric 6,1" combo guard, and I think that our backcourt is better WITHOUT DM.

I think the backcourt would have been much better with Mitchell. BUT the cost was too much. Cleveland is in a much different place and it makes more sense for them than us. They didn't really want Sexton and didn't need Markannen

I'm glad we didn't get Mitchell. He has peaked and what you see is what you get. And given our youth it would have been a fool's gold scenario here.
I have always been an RJ fan. Love the kid. And FWIW I have posted my esteem for and belief in Brunson since his senior year at Villanova. He has rewarded my faith and I think the contract is fair at the very least. I think those two are the key to the Knicks' future.
Those two have the opportunity to develop a two-man game of some sort while each can also focus on setting up Robinson, Toppin, Sims, and Fournier. Then draft according to what position underperforms.
Randle: I hated the acquisition initially, then was happily proven wrong two seasons ago, and then last season WTF. He can potentially thrive by working at meshing with RJ and Brunson and willingly giving up stats or become a discounted trade piece by the trade deadline next season.

I don't believe Donovan Mitchell has peaked and if he was a Knick he'd be the best player on the team. That said a deep sigh of relief that Leon Rose didn't cave into media/fan pressure to make a bad trade. Someone else put this up but it bears repeating. To equal what the Cavs gave Utah for Mitchell the Knicks would have had to trade RJ (for Sexton), Obi (for Markkaman), Grimes (for Agbaji) and three unprotected first round picks.
No fuckin' way!!!
I like our team now. It's talented, athletic, young, skilled, deep and with the addition of Brunson the Knicks have fixed their biggest problem. I wasn't on board with Jalen but the more video I watch and the more I hear what the kid has to say and what smart people say about him I think he's aa great fit for this team. He should make the game easier for everyone from Mitch to Julius to RJ and everyone else.
It appears Cam Reddish wants out which is fine with me as it makes for more PT for Grimes.
So now we have a set rotation. Mitch, Hartenstein and Sims at center. Julius and Obi at PF. Either Fournier or RJ or Grimes in a rotation at SF and SG. Brunson, Rose and IQ at PG with Rose and IQ also playing some SG. With Cam out of the equation I like a Mitch, Randle and RJ frontline with Grimes and Brunson at the guards and Hartenstein, Obi, Fournier, Rose and IQ coming off the bench. Lots of interesting combinations available to the Knicks. They will have to score as a group though Randle, Rose and IQ have been known for their scoring bursts.
And lets not forget we still have all that draft capital to use in trades along with the likelihood of vastly improved players.
Grimes showed an improved and confident game this summer. He still needs to work on his shot selection but overall he has that scorers mindset, his ball handling was demonstrably improved and he's a demon on defense. The kid can go and get his shot off the dribble and score at all three levels. Obi and IQ showed remarkable improvement at the end of the season so I'm confident the Knicks did the right thing keeping these young players. Kudos to Cleveland for making the deal. Condolences to Mitchell who goes from Utah to Cleveland.

Great non-move by Leon. Next up getting rid of Randle and Fournier.

But I feel the cost is too much to go from 10th to maybe sixth. Cleveland is in a different place. They might have won 50 if they had stayed healthy. Mitchell gives them 4 real ballers , they had become too good for a top draft pick and free agents arent going to Leaveland.
Now, I dont love any of our players but i like a lot of them. Keep building and our time to throw in our chips will come. AND Dildo Danny wanted Barrett and 5 million picks. SUCK IT. CLeveland didnt give up any of their REAL BIG 3. Keep tanking for Victor.. I sure hope UTAH doesnt grt him.

I am happy that we did not make that trade. Mitchell is a very good player, but he needs to be a complementary star and not THE star if you have championship aspirations. Personally, I really want to see the young Knicks players develop. RJ, IQ, Obi and Grimes have all shown real potential. Getting Brunson was a good move and I was VERY happy to keep Mitch. We are one of the youngest teams in the NBA and I want to see how they develop.
Hopefully, Randle plays well this year and we wind up with a playoff contender. The East is the stacked conference now. 45 wins might not be enough to make the playoffs. Yet, I would be happy with 45 wins.
I can't wait to see this team play.
