Here is the difference between tonight and Sunday night.
You hit your shots.
Against Orlando the Knicks were miserable in their shooting but against Philly they were on fire. As the Magic Twitter fans stated the Knicks aren't good enough to beat any team in the NBA by just showing up but when they play even close to their capability they are formidable. Tonight the Knicks weren't formidable but they were impressive.
Two things leap to mind. Actually three things.
Tonight we saw what Kemba Walker can do for this team. His ability to create at will just makes it all so much easier for everyone. Point two is how well Kemba, Evan and DRose are playing as a trio. Point three is now y'all know why I loved Tobias Harris for the Knicks. Not 5 years/180 million worth but his game is just seamless and would fit into a team like the Knicks who depend on teamwork and cohesiveness.
Great game.
We are now first in the Atlantic Division. Third in scoring offense. Seventeenth in defense points allowed. Y'all know that will change in a hurry.

I wanted to shout out an unsung hero recently and specifically in this last game.
Mitchell Robinson.
I better not ever hear anyone in Knicks Fandom say that Noel can easily replace Mitch. He Can't no offense to Noel.
He manhandles rebounds and his passing is so good. He keeps this up and by mid season we may extend him then forget the offseason. If Mitch was there in the Atlanta series last year, we don't only win one game.
With him here this season so far we are a force along with everything else going on. He shut down Embiid out there for most of the game.
💪🏿

Mitch's defense on Embiid clearly frustrated him even with Mitch getting fouls. Mitch is much stronger now and cannot be bullied like in the past. He has such great hands. When Mitch gets his hands on the ball, he gets the ball. It is an underrated talent.
I love watching Mitch play!! He is a perfect fit for this team and for Thibs. I loved it when someone threw a lob for Mitch and Embiid tried to go for the ball, Embiid went down in a heap after getting an elbow to the face because Mitch was that much higher. Should have been a foul on Embiid too.

This team badly needs Mitch to stay healthy. What a different team this is now with a powerful center and two great offensive options added in Evan and Kemba. That’s first place Knicks to you, sir!
