I really like our young players in this draft

I don't know where minutes will come from for Mcbride and Grimes, but they have some really good defensive and shooting instincts.

This is overall along with Jericho Sims probably one our best top to bottom drafts in a long time for the Knicks, for sure.

Love to see how they progress. These kids can play D- are smart and we know Grimes can shoot but Deuce too? I’ve also liked what I’ve seen of Grimes getting into the paint w his dribble. Let’s see how it translates.

Deuce shot 41% from three last year, so we know he can shoot it. His overrall shooting percentage was only 43% though, so I’m guessing from those stats that he doesn’t have a good intermediate game or finish well at the hoop, otherwise those are first round numbers. I think he’ll have trouble breaking that tight Thibs rotation, but Grimes will be in there for sure.

I respectfully disagree.. I think with the kind of defense that he plays, along with the 3 point shooting that he brings, and also the intangibles, He's going to see some minutes. I don't see how he can be kept out of the rotation

I agree, I think Deuce might see more daylight as he is showing to be a better PG/Defense than IQ. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I expect McBride will play a very significant amount. We can expect both Walker and Rose will miss time. IQ is still best served as a "Lou Williams light" off the bench scorer. When one of the veteran PGS is unavailable, then I expect McBride plays.

So are they sending the Argentine to the G League? I read from one of you he played very few minutes. Is he simply overmatched at the NBA level then?

Vildoza was injured so that might be a factor. It’s also August so decisions are months away from being made about personnel. He’s a player but the simple truth is McBride might be better. Now. Which is a good thing.

I should add the signing of Dwayne Bacon does make things interesting for Mr. Vildoza not to mention IQ playing some decent PG.

i wasnt impressed at the signing and the few minutes he got certainly didnt change my opinion.

You guys may be right about Deuce playing, but I’m still skeptical. You have Kemba and DRose taking up the bulk of the minutes, and I think IQ showed here he can handle the point pretty well. Plus you have the more experienced Vildoza. And I don’t have to tell you how this coach will distribute minutes if he has to choose between veterans and rookies. I think Grimes gets into the rotation but not McBride.

We will see, nice problem to have. But i believe Vildoza is behind Frank in the rotation. IQ showed improvemant at the point but I believe he misses a lot of stuff. And I believe looking for others causes him to choose poorly for his own offense.
