Q1
Randle needs to get his shit together. Bullock earning his pay so far. But Young still getting anywhere he wants. I like the gamesmanship of Noel and Bullock on Young. Gotta try anything to get him flustered.
THAT WAS A FLOP REGGIE! Refs called it right.
Q2
How are they getting all these alley oops?!?!?
RJ finally!! Gallinari always seems to be able to drive and draw fouls. It’s his ball fake and head fake.
Gorgeous drive by RJ at 5:00. Hawks have a nice young group I’ll give you that.
Knicks playing zone. 🤔
Q3
Capela is free on practically 80% of Hawk possessions. We’re not going to prevail if this keeps up. Where oh where is Mitch
Randle so many fucking turnovers Jesus. Bogdonavich three 5 point swing
Bullock air ball OMFG this could be it. Reggie points out Hawks are out hustling the Knicks. Crowd edgy and murmuring.
Trae with big 3. Knicks discombobulated. 🙄 16 point deficit
Okay we’re twelve down. LETS GO
Q4
RJ again using his off hand!! And now Toppin. NINE POINTS
Randle what the fuck dude. Now Young gets 3 free throws. 16 POINTS
Our offense straight up sucks. And the turnovers. 19 POINTS
I do believe that’s all she wrote for the season.
Randle and Barrett you really have to wonder about them. I know we faced a better team but there’s no excuse for this kind of underachieving.

Sure there is a valid excuse. A rock solid exceptionally well executed game plan against a hard working but extremely flawed Knicks team.

The better team won. This was a good playoff experience for our young players. The Knicks have 50 million in cap space and two number one picks. The Hawks? This is as good as it gets. A second round elimination is their ceiling.

Gates I have been saying all along that Randle needs to get his Dirk on and make that pass out of the converging double team to beat those rotations. Ninety percent of the time he hesitated in this series while in the RS he hesitated far less. He showed that he could do the Dirk so why couldn't/didn't he?? Also Kenny Smith said he hesitated himself into bad decisions and bad shots. A couple of his highlights showed he had six feet of daylight on 3-pointers. How is that due to the Hawks well-executed game plan? His mind needs to get stronger, doesn't it? As far as Barrett is concerned I really thought he would drive the ball more, draw fouls. He averaged 3 measly FTs per game.

He averaged 3 measly FTs per game. Now that I've had a night of sleep to process the loss in the 1st round, here's my take on Randle and RJ. I agree that Randle and RJ, our two best players, looked less than their best in the playoffs. But RJ is only 20 and he finally got a taste of his first playoff experience. I felt he was making it up as he went along but of course he would because he's confident and was trying to make things stick. He will adjust and I have great confidence in him as long as we invest in his development like a team would Donovan Mitchell or Jason Tatum he's going to be great one day. Randle, is sort of in the same boat but he learned something valuable. Regular season is not like the playoffs. He dominated in the regular season because while he was going into 5th gear, most other players and teams saved that gear for the second season. I honestly think he and Rose were a little burnt out because of all the high usage during the season. Both mentally and physically. I think Rose's and Thibs job is very tough this offseason because we can't just only resign everyone that we had and expect to be the 4th seed again. Some people may not be able to be resigned because their games weren't or aren't enough. Also let's say we keep(which I doubt) all 3 picks this year, are they going to languish and rot on the bench or will we be able to really use the G league next year to send players that need seasoning down. This was a wasted year for Knox and Frank when we could've used both men. I am proud of our guys and maybe in a later setting will go over what I think about the FULL roster but I don't Rose's job of making sure who to keep and who to send packing so we can graduate to the next level past a first round exit. We definitely overachieved and I'm proud of that in itself for sure.
