I hate to say it but after the first half all I can think of to say is… CHOKE I hope I’m wrong. Starters are playing like shit. If this was regular season Randall, Barrett, and Noel would be on bench. Bench would be in game. Gibson, Burks, Toppin, Quickly, and Rose This is unwatchable.
CHOKE - prove me wrong. Call me an idiot.

Gates I was crazed by the first half. But things got better when Thibs went to the bench. DRose was tremendous. Bullock stepped up. Julius calmed down and he started to improve. Taj Gibson was dynamite. I think next season Obi Toppin is really going to open some eyes. I’m so thankful we’re back in it. On to Atlanta. I hope the jitters are over.

All year, games have seemed lost to me. But wow, I'm surprised by their dedication. For the last group of years I've felt the team really didn't deserve my fandom. In fact, I liked our group here and my part in this group more than I've enjoyed the actual team. But this TEAM brings me joy.

Kman, Oh and I love me some Taj. I don't see how Julius and Obi can play together in Thibs system of a defensive center and wings that can chase shooters around screens. But Thibs is gonna have to figure something out. Obi is coming fast.

What a roller coaster of emotions! I was sure we were done at halftime, and it’s a good thing there was nothing else I wanted to watch or I would have switched the channel because it was so painful. The frustrating thing to me was how hard they would work to cut into a deficit, only to have it go right back to double digits in literally a minute. It even happened in the fourth quarter where they built a ten point lead and one minute later it was tied. The Hawks are really explosive and all it takes is missing a couple of shots for them to have a big run. Did they finally wear down and feel the pressure the last few minutes when they went ice cold? I think it’s something interesting to watch if the games in Atlanta go down to the last few minutes. It was nice to see Randle pick it up in the third quarter. He needs to stop thinking so much out there. They’re actually giving him the open three, he needs to take it and stop putting it on the floor. DRose has been incredible and it’s crazy to think of how he’s playing compared to the disaster of his previous stint in New York. What a difference coaching makes!

Keep in mind what's killing us is the automatic shooting of not only Young but Huerter, Bogdan and Gallo. It's why I said what I said in the other post. It's also what kills us when we play Miami in Herro and Duncan Robinson. We can look for superstars to compliment Rose and Randle and RJ but we more shooters to add to Bullock and Burks badly. Someone's who's more automatic than them.

The MSG crowd played a big part in the Hawks wilting at the end. Listening to Barkley speak in reverent tones about it before the Utah game was gratifying. The Knicks remain playoff grinders.

There was a time when I was TOTALLY against trading for Derrick Rose. Memories of his first stint with us lingered in my mind. I don't like Divas and to me Rose was a Diva. Turns out he was just another guy Phil Jackson managed to piss off and it didn't take very long to warm up to DRose Version 2.0. He saved us last night. His game has been nothing short of amazing and his reincarnation as a difference maker has been both astounding and confounding. I can't remember a basketball player totally reinventing himself like Rose has done.

The concept of choking can be very misleading. Randle scores so many key baskets during all parts of a game. Why doesn't choking consider the entire game and not the last 2 minutes of a game? My point is if Randle or any other Knick player contributes towards making the game competitive for the last 2 minutes, they have not choked. I don't consider Randle or any Knick player chokers, quite the opposite. The cultural change of being so resilient as a team is remarkable and the antithesis of choking. Nice comeback Knickerbockers.
