These are the picks the Knicks make in this summers draft. We won the tie breaker with Atlanta and they pick 20, so we pick before and after them for our two firsts
Do you think we stay put, trade up and will Thibs even play any of these players and if so, what do we do with our own young players like Knox, Frank and Obi.
I truly believe we aren't going to keep or draft 4 players only for Thibs to let them rot.
So my prediction is we try to move up in the lotto using one of Frank or Knox and the two first Rounders that we have to draft either a wing or a PG.
The early second rounder I think we'll take a draft stash in Europe or somewhere and the latter first rounder we'll trade to someone for cash or a future second rounder or something.
Thoughts??

Now that the Knicks unexpectedly made the fourth seed, I think they’re going to try to acquire a superstar to take it to the next level. I’m really not sure how they work the cap to bring in a top free agent, trade for a superstar, AND max out Randle, but other teams manage to do this stuff, so I’m pretty sure it can be done.

If the Nyets can do it by maxing Joe Harris and trading for Harden and signing two superstars then we can do it

Makes total sense but who's available? I'm wondering which direction the Wolves take under new management. Keep the core or tear it down and build around Edwards which makes KAT and Russell available. Does either get us over the hump? We all know to take a pass on Oladipo. I doubt the Wizards make Beal available.
Here is my short list of the scorers who put NY into championship contention.
Curry Beal Giannis Kawhi Doncic Dame Joel LaVine Williamson Tatum Zion Mitchell Booker Jokic Ingram
Think any of them can be moved? I'm not optimistic which is why I set my sights on an unrestricted free agent Norman Powell. He certainly helps our scoring. I'm not thinking KAT is a fit for our chemistry but I do have some outside hope for Zach LaVine.

If the Clippers continue to get thrashed by the Mavs then Kawhi with whatever powers that Leon Rose and World Wide Wes have along with the fact Kawhis uncle is a Knicks fan/NY native being his manager, he most certainly could be had. Norman Powell is a essentially Bullock and he isn't even putting the Blazers over right now let alone the fact he is 6'3" playing a small forward. I like him as a player but he isn't the superstar you might think he is. All the players on the list could be had with the picks we have acquired plus a few of our young players. If we trade, you have to give to get, it's that simple. I trust our front office to do something. The one player you don't have to trade for who might've been a given to stay in Los Angeles WAS Kawhi but the way that team is set up and their losing, he might be open to the Big apple. We'd be instant contenders with Kawhi.

We'd be instant contenders with Kawhi. One uncle doesn't make a family. Kawhi is a native California who spurned a championship team to move to Los Angeles. The only place that might attract him is Miami. NY is indeed more attractive now but Leonard marches to the beat of a much different drummer. I still think he threw Pops and the Spurs under the bus just to get out of San Antonio. The Spurs are the best or one of the best run organizations in all of sports. I used to be a big fan of Leonard and even called him the best player in basketball. He would make a difference on the Knicks but would he mess with the unique chemistry this team has which is one of my reasons for wanting Norman Powell. The Knicks are a sum of the parts team so just upgrading the parts will have a ripple effect as long as the chemistry remains good.
I never said Norman Powell is a superstar. I did say he's a very good player and somewhere I wrote he might replace Bullock on the team but as a SG with RJ moving to SF. Powell is a better player than Reggie. He's a decent enough shooter but more a pure scorer than Reggie with the ability to get shots off the bounce and finish, usually spectacularly, at the rim. He's a solid defender and a team player. He's younger than Reggie too and shot over 40% this season from beyond the line. Norman Powell is an affordable, viable talent upgrade who addresses the Knicks biggest problem area which is scoring.
Of course the X factor in all this is Leon Rose. The Knicks do have assets to make a big splash trade. They can move up into the draft lottery. The can sign free agents. The Knicks are a year or maybe two ahead of their rebuilding schedule. It should be interesting to see how Rose adjusts to this team's success.
