Okay I love this year's squad and its coach. Although I did get excited now and then that year, I was never much of a believer in the 12-13 squad especially after Kidd broke down. They didn't seem built for the playoffs and they were the oldest team in the league. Woodson's coaching was switch on defense all the time (Knicks were a putrid 18th in defensive rating) and plenty of iso Melo @35.6% usage. Felton was his usual <meh>, Smith was an asshole as usual, and Chandler was coming off a title win and a great year one year earlier.
All that said, and since we have another 24hrs before it's ON...... who wins a 7-game series between these two vastly different Knicks teams?

I think 12-13. More talent less depth. BTW, most teams now play a similar defense to Woodson's

12-13 has a lot more talent though they also suffered through a lot more injuries. I think they beat our current team BUT next year? The year after? I take the current crop.
BTW, watching the 76ers/Wizards game I could help but note that either Tobias Harris or Bradley Beal could be our missing piece.

I think both bring what the Knicks need most to ascend to the next level. Beal is younger and by far the more explosive scorer. Harris adds length, defense and better 3 point shooting. To me the determining factor is cost. I think the Sixers overpaid for Harris but he's the type of player that makes cost a secondary consideration. He's a great teammate who doesn't have a huge ego but has huge skills. Beal is a good dude too with one of the game's best offensive skill sets. In the end both are great fits for the Knicks. Maybe I give Beal a slight edge because he so easily gets his own offense.

I also remember some folks here didn't want Booker. We have a very good foundation. Someone special will come.
