I agree about the hypocrisy of the league. Every other player has had to stay away for 10-14 days. I don't agree about him being an asshole. He seems like a good man off the court and with his family. He's got businesses to run and while this was I'll timing for him to be caught out there, there was no way the face of the league was going to be away from the playoffs for two weeks. That would've been a set of stones only David Stern, whom I didn't like, would've done in banned him for the quarantine period. Silver is softer than Stern in that regard. But I digress the league is a hypocrite for no action whatsoever. It sends the wrong message to players who have had to stay away and be hurt by their absence to their teams.

You're right for the most part. The private life/public life is an interesting dichotomy but can also serve as a convenient excuse. In other words, while it's nice to hear he's that he is devoted to his family (isn't that a basic standard for husbands and fathers?!?), that does not absolve him of being an above-it-all smug-assed douche, nor does it somehow make matters somehow "even." He's setting a terrible professional example even if he's fulfilling his personal obligations just as any average husband and father would, except with 100s of billions of dollars to his name. PS As an unvaccinated person he may still be a danger to others if he has it and yet is asymptomatic. The risk to others, however remote, is still there. It's a passive-aggressive way of flaunting his power. Not a good look.

Most people that actually know him well claim that he is the opposite of an asshole.
"All smug asset douche". While I disagree, that was also claimed about the rest of my Mt Rushmore: Russell, Kareem, and Jordan

It should not matter how remote the risk is, and his behavior is wrong in several ways. Please tell me in what way Bill Russell was/is smug? This is interesting news to me.

Later, I'll speak on the arroganr, dismissive, condescending (my favorite) Russell. Far more important is the event in question. EVERYONE at the small outdoor event had either been vaccinated or recently tested. This was not a trump rally. Chenobyl to you, jaywalking to me.

I can easily accept that logic. But you believe in karma far more than I do.

Did anybody really think LeBron would face any punishment? Suspended? He didn't even get a slap on the wrist but he's LeBron and the rules have always been a bit different for superstars.
He tested negative 3 times so personally I'm not too upset. No real harm and certainly no real foul.
