So to my surprise Nate McMillan apparently in an attempt to hype his own team, is giving the Knicks bulletin board material. He in a Peter Botte NY Post article the other day, is acting as if the NBA wants the Knicks in the playoffs as if they didn't earn it. He says the media doesn't think they have a chance and he thinks the NBA management feels this way too. I think this is so weird for an even keeled coach to even insinuate that the main reason we are here in the playoffs is because the league office wanted it to be so. So if he feels that about the Knicks, what about the Nets who had a lopsided trade that brought Harden there, and signed two top 10 guys the summer before. Anyway here's the article that sparked the fine to what Coach Nate McMillan said: nypost.com/2021/05/19/hawks-nate-mcmillan-nba-wants-knicks-in-playoffs/?utm_source=twitter_sitebuttons&utm_medium=site%20buttons&utm_campaign=site%20buttonsThoughts??

Nate McMillan has always been a class act and one of my favorite coaches. I think he means exactly what he says. The NBA is better when New York is good. Our team represents the largest population in the country and that means a LOT of $$$ for the NBA which is especially timely in the times of COVID-19 where everybody lost a lot of money.
It's not like the Knicks didn't earn their place and sweeping Atlanta tells me Nate wasn't saying we didn't deserve to be in the playoffs but it does mean attention is drawn to any series the Knicks are in. Which is good.
It's also about time.
