Our old friend Nic is still hanging in there. I emailed him today and got a response that his son is still in hospice and alive despite some absolutely awful developments. The doctors thought he wouldn't make it till Christmas and yet the kid is hanging in there. Nic has accepted the inevitable but he and his family are living each day at a time as a blessing. Nic's son must be the toughest person I have ever heard of or read about.
I extended well wishes from all of us in my response. Say prayers for Nic, his family and his son.

His son is quite a fighter, hopefully he continues to hang in there. Thanks for keeping us updated!
