Both Mitchell Robinson's injuries this season were the result of bad karma and NOT as the result of some structural deficiency! That said the Knicks are still at the point of drafting the best player regardless of position. But if position was the sole criteria then PG is the choice. Cunningham and Suggs are the best choices but they will be gone. Given where they are drafting I like Tre Mann from Florida as a tall PG with upside and skills. He will be available mid first round but more than likely he'd be best taken later. With our second pick in the first round go strictly on potential. Or combine those first round picks and go for a lottery pick. It won't be a Top 5 but it should be high enough to draft a kid with serious upside. I like Kai Jones of Texas, an uber athletic center, or sweet shooting swingman Moses Moody from Arkansas. Mann could still be available with our Detroit second round pick.
Free agency could/should fill the Knicks most pressing needs. Lots of folks think a big offer could net restricted free agent PG Lonzo Ball. Not my first choice but lots of Knicks fans I trust like him and I have to admit his father is his biggest issue with me. My understanding is that Lonzo doesn't like the city of New Orleans. Likes his teammates but not the city. He is rumored to like NYC a lot. I do think in NYC Lavar will be more likely to be old Lavar - and some of more local media scumbags will play into it. If he cannot keep his piehole shut that will be an unmitigated and almost weekly shit-storm here in Gotham. |

Talking heads don't bother me or else I'd be triggered everytime Steven A and his ilk open their mouth. I'm not going to avoid acquiring talent because of the talents parents. Lonzo is exactly what we need. |

I honestly believe THIS draft might be the one for the Knicks to cash some chips on their future. With multiple first round picks, a multitude of second round picks and young talent a package might be arranged to get into the top 3 of the draft. I might dangle Mitchell Robinson as bait along with both our picks next year and both our first round picks in 2023. That's how highly I regard, Cunningham, Suggs and Mobley. All three are future stars. All three change the landscape of the team. And to be honest I don't care which kid we get. |
