Q1 Simmons is allowed to palm and travel with impunity. Tough to watch this arrogant prick, honestly.
Knicks look like garbage so far. Down 13 already. Ah a Mitch sighting at long last. And Barrett shuts down Simmons. Good defense!! He’s turning into a real pro before our eyes.
Q2 Robinson= Floor Impact. Frank’s aggression must be the Thibs effect. It may be helping his focus.
What is up with all these turnovers?!? And missed free throws.
Clyde: “These guys travel every time they touch the ball!” Lol. On cue Simmons palms and travels his way down the floor. Just an ugly game. Is he one of those NBA darlings like Wade once was?
Nice comeback for us.

Q3 RJ with the right hand. Randle drives right and shoots left. Misses pretty badly. As I’ve been saying— this is not a good shot for him.
Bradley literally grabs Randle by the leg. That should be flagrant!! Randle did not earn a tech. Bad reffing.
Simmons is a squealer too. Strike three.
So many Knicks turnovers and missed free throws. No foul call when he hacks RJ. Come on man!
Quickley is precocious isn’t he.
The possession at 3:40 was a thing of beauty.
Sixers Milton is a good player.
Q4 Mitch has missed a couple of putbacks tonight. Randle with a CLUUUUTCH three at 7:20. Rivers calls timeout.
Mitch with yet another ankle injury.
If we lose it’s the turnovers and the missed free throws.
Another huge three by Randle and then a bad foul.
Ha ha Nerlens Noel with the and 1. Three point game.
How the hell does Burks miss a layup after a clutch steal?!?
Overturned call. Jesus
RANDLE RANDLE RANDLE
Overtime anybody?
Simmons palming his way to the lane again.
My guy Burks getting it done. Then Randle/Barrett/ Bullock. Great!
Randle with a bad foul there. That’s a shame.
Tough loss for us. The refs didn’t do a good job at the end.

This game gave me heartburn. And then an imaginary kick in the nuts. The two Sixers games and the Nets game we lost on clear mistakes and foolishness. We are also not crappy enough to tank at this point, and not too good to overwhelm a really good team. It's like I want us to make a trade but I don't know what for and I don't want to mess up our chemistry, at the same time. I hate that I care about this team so much. All that to say.....yeah I agree this one hurt. PS if Rose wasn't gone we easily win 5 more games than we did. He meant that much to the flow of everything we were doing up until that point.

Remember that old John Melloncamp song, “Hurt So Good?” This loss was painful, I tossed and turned all night but then I thought about it and realized that for the first time in years I care so much about the Knicks winning and losing again and it felt better. No more tanking for Zion and LaMelo, (so sorry for his injury last night) it’s all about winning now. What an awful job by the refs last night to call such a ticky tack foul to decide the game after letting them play all night. And then refusing the Knicks request to review! Leon Wood, who used to play for the Sixers? Hmmm. As for trades, I read yesterday that the Pelicans will take a young player or first round pick for Lonzo. How can the Knicks not offer that? With Randle now the centerpiece of the franchise, give them Obi.

OBI and Frank, OBI and a No1. What is your opinion of two of the Sixer players: Matisse Thybulle and Shake Milton? I confess I was impressed with both.

I saw Thybulle in his years at UW (Washington). He is basically a defensive specialist and a lot like Frank Ntilikina.... a lot.
Except Frank gets into a shooting groove once in a while.

The Knicks need a stone cold scorer who can create his own offense and jump start the Knicks by himself if need be. Failing that the Knicks just need more scoring like Philly gets from Tobias. We have scorers like Milton but Tobias can even turn a bad game like Sunday and turn it into a win. Naturally I don't want Tobias now because he is making superstar money.
It hurt to see the Knicks lose because they fought so hard and Philly has beat us 15 times in a row. But let's keep things in perspective. I'd be happy with a playoff team but right now I'm overjoyed that OUR Knicks are a tough out for just about any team. Their improvement has been phenomenal and given their relative youth things can only get better. We aren't that far from being on par with Philly. Or even Brooklyn and Milwaukee.
Let's see how our guys bounce back against the Wizards.

IMHO the Knicks are a superstar scorer away from being an elite NBA team. And they have a lot of room to grow and get even better. You put Bradley Beal on the current Knicks team and the East is up for grabs. Assume for a moment Beal is a free agent this summer and not in 2022.
Beal is an elite scorer and a good defender. He's a high character, team oriented guy too who does way more than just score. He is great in the locker room and a leader on the floor. He allows Julius to be our #2 guy which is perfect for him. Beal allows RJ to move to SF which is a problem area for the Knicks. RJ would make for an excellent small forward/third guard type and he's nowhere as good as he can be. Think Jaylen Brown type good.
I'd love a more definitive solution at PG but Rose/Payton/IQ and even Frank would make for a serviceable rotation. With Mitch and Nerlens center is pretty much set and like RJ we all know Mitchell Robinson has a lot of room to improve.
But the main reasons New York is in the elite with a Bradley Beal (or Brandon Ingram) are our coach, our defense and especially our depth. Look at this rotation and imagine all the youngsters a year older and a year better. Also add two and maybe three draft picks.
CENTER: Mitchell Robinson, Nerlens Noel, Taj Gibson
POWER FORWARD: Julius Randle, Obi Toppin, Taj Gibson
SMALL FORWARD: RJ Barrett, Reggie Bullock, Kevin Knox
SHOOTING GUARD: Bradley Beal, Alec Burks, Frank Ntilikina
POINT GUARD: Derrick Rose, Elfrid Payton, Immanuel Quickley
Depending on the draft a few of these guys, likely Gibson, Knox, Bullock or Payton might be gone but the fact is the Knicks would be an extremely deep team capable of applying offensive and defensive pressure for 48 minutes. We don't have to match the superstar core of Philly, Brooklyn or Milwaukee. We just have to stay close enough to let defense, depth and superior bench talent win the day.
