Honestly I just wish you two avoid each other. It's just weird at this point. I don't even fully get why you two can't just agree to disagree as life is too short.
David is not going to apologize or rather bend to a mea culpa about Randle, and Bill is set in his ways and doesn't like David or his sometimes contrarian opinion.
We all barely post here as it is. Let's just make it what it used to be which is just an online bar if you will, where we share opinions on anything sports and leave a tab and keep it moving.
All this petty back and forth makes it hard to keep coming here to escape from the bullshit I'm sure we all go through everyday outside of here.
Hopefully what I wrote means something to you two. Good day.

Frankly because of the pandemic, politics, all this politically correct nonsense, old age, etc. I feel less inclined to not respond to posters or posts I have issues with than to show restraint. What's the point? You post on a message board and that makes what you post fair game and in some cases it makes the poster fair game too. Sadly this board lacks a snooze/ignore feature which would be the perfect solution for this discussion. What I will do is ramp up my basketball posts and ramp down my posts to David. If we both can play nice maybe that's ultimately the solution. Maybe.

Good day. I respect and respect your chastening of Bill and myself, Jason. I for my part-- as I have made very clear several times I would prefer to remain here and steer clear but "it takes two to tango." Not at all difficult for me to steer clear at all. Maybe if you ask him to do the same he'll respect your request. I see zero reason to apologize over my opinion of Randle last season, an opinion you and several others shared as you well know. He's a different player this season, clearly-- and though I hate the turnovers he has been nothing short of terrific for the Knicks. Why should we apologize when it is clear he was lousy last year but really good this year? That's not being "mistaken" as in "being right or wrong about him," that's simply acknowledging the young man's growth between last year and this. As to barely posting here anymore, I have wondered why that is. The team is doing well and yet the participation here is at an all-time low. Strange.

I hear what you're saying ultimately. It's just both of you are expecting from the other, what each of you isn't willing to give. I mean how much time and energy can you do post in circles? You and he are better than that. We've got the best season since Woody got them to the playoffs. Alot to talk about, so I don't want to see y'all go down this path. With that said hopefully if you two do engage more reasonably then it would be agree to disagree or agree to agree or whatever axiom that is appropriate and keep it moving. Knicks 4 life baby!!! PS We need a trade badly Bill. Who can we get and why?

For me I check in almost everyday but it's after I have put in 10+ hour shifts and my eyes can barely stay open. So I domt comment as much on purpose because I'm doing like a million things after work. I haven't the slightest idea why others do or don't especially when some talk Knicks on Facebook in other forums usually everyday or every other day. Who knows. But for me it's just life is all, no other reason in particular.

Worldview ?? Wow that is quite a reach. I doubt your differences of opinion come within light years of threatening someone's worldview. Bout as likely as a more valuable side kick SPOCK or TONTO discussion indicates whether clubs are more valuable than spades. I don't think it's a reach. The game is important to us because of the maxim "basketball is life." In my opinion a strong case can be made for seeing that the way we approach the game-- when we play it, the way we see the game, and the things we value about the game, its teams, and its players vis a vis their teams, etc. etc.-- that approach will quite often reflect who we are as men and women so far as values. At the root of it all is probably the manifestation of ubuntu. Obviously this perspective transcends fanhood, which by definition is irrational and focused on entertainment (individual exploits) more than the life lessons (teamwork and making others better) the game can convey. By contrast, you are a student of the game, which is not that common. Doesn't hurt that you're a gentleman, too. Obviously we can be both fans and students. Thank you for your kind words. I do try to study the game. A special benefit of this board. I get to examine different perspectives. Example - I don't love "your" DRPM stat BUT I do often check it. Ubuntu, when the game is played at its highest level is fascinating. BUT I'm equally, maybe more so, thrilled by "the real game NBA jamness of ": STEPH'S HEATING UP - HE'S ON FIRE.

Good day. Jason you remain a FAR better person than I. I find the back and forth between Bill and Dave slightly amusing and not at all irritating. But I like Dave's opinion as he often sees players far differently than I. And I have a love for Bill. Not just because when Obi is terrible Bill sees something else and I want to see his something else. So I get that Dave occasionally irritates others here. But selfishly I am glad the board is constituted the way that it is. Just don't bring back Nets2Nuts. That asshat would be impossible to take.

Oh I like them individually as I've known Bill since I was 16 years old(I'm 39 now), but they don't even give each other props when they are right or agree to disagree when they're wrong or differ. It starts off amusing to me but then it gets nasty and whatever. I like both men and every once in awhile I just wish they could lighten up but I also am probably alone in that request so I will stay out of it. And if NetstoNuts or Jnets or any Nets loving fan posts here I will flame them along with you. I can't stand Nets fans fans unless they loved the Nets in the Derrick days. Then I'll respect the true futility you had to deal with while we were going to Conference and NBA Finals

How could it be that Randle stunk last season while leading the team in scoring, rebounding and assists? He's actually averaging MORE turnovers this year (but playing 4 more MPG) and that was the primary complaint last year. Surely he's played better this year but aside from conditioning and diet he's always been a gym rat so what else has changed. Maybe a little more support from his teammates? Is it any coincidence that RJ's game ramped up considerably and the additions of Burks and IQ have made Randle's job a little easier?
These sort of statements will always get a response from me. Always. That will never change though I will try to restrain the fiery oratory. If I can.
As for reduced board traffic I have an excuse. My primary Mac went south after 11 years. I have just replaced everything with a state of the art Mac setup and my board participation will increase. Jason and Gates still post a lot but the real issue has always been a very few powering most of the board traffic. Everybody has to kick in to get this board back to what it once was which includes me feuding with at least one poster.
