Knicks have beaten Rims in tv ratings the last few times they go head to head. Seemingly still a knicks town and we are finally quite exciting to watch. Wouldn't seem like that will change. BUT if Brooklyn wins the chip (not just getting to finals) playing offensive juggernaut basketball will the tables turn?
Been a knicks fan since the exact day they drafted Clyde. I likely ain't going nowhere (even with Dolan). But what about the 1 to 25 crew? Personally if I was a kid now, I'd likely choose Brooklyn, even though I mostly tolerate Brooklyn because of Kyrie. (But my logic for liking Kyrie is old man non basketball logic)

The major issue with stacked 2-3 top 10 players is that when one does down so does the entire playing system.
A case in point may be the LeBron-Davis pairing. Doing great then Anthony goes down mid-game on Feb 14- Lakers are 2-5 in this and the next 6 games.

NY is not completely a Giants town even though the Giants won waaaay more historically than the Jets and Bills. So even though the Nets may win one or more, it's when the Knicks win ONE just ONE and it would in the hearts and minds of true Knicks lifers that would matter more than whatever the Nets did. Most people that like Nets, and that like the Knicks too, aren't emotionally invested in the Knicks. The perfect time for Knicks fans to leave the franchise fan base would've been when Eddy Curry was the franchise player and Isiah Thomas ran everything into the ground. Not when they traded for Harden. But you're right new generation kids probably love the Nets cause of KD and Harden.

Who cares about the NETS? Even if they win the title, they still suck. It’s like the MIZ winning the WWE title, he still sucks.

The Nets have completely mortgaged their future to possibly win a title in the next year or two. All their picks are gone or swapped for practically the next decade. Anyone becoming a Nets fan will have a long future of misery after KD, Harden and Kyrie are older and gone and that could be as soon as 2023. Any fan becoming a Nets fan is a front runner, which means they’ll be gone after that.
