Boy Randle is doing his best work right now. Both Breen and Mr. Frazier raving about his conditioning, his handle, his shot during the offseason. He’s in great shape this season. Last year not so much and that hampered him. Playing winded is a losing proposition. Anyway he looks great.
Meanwhile Trae Young is showing his value even if he’s having a bad half: maintains his dribble, court vision, shooting from distance, drawing fouls. Very effective if sneaky.
Second unit and Randle is looking great. Randle with spin move in the lane. That’s a great shot for him: drive left, stop and spin right with a perfect midrange shot.
Gallinari and the ability to draw fouls is such a big part of his effectiveness. When healthy he remains underrated.
Burks again showing better floor impact than Bullock. I’ll have to check but I think his minutes are trending higher and at the expense of Bullock. And then a boneheaded play.
Barrett finished with his left on a right handed layup, blows the layup anyway. Come on kid you can make it right handed or at least draw a foul there.
Randle with his first bad shot with 4:50 remaining but hey he drew a shooting foul, which is a great play by him. That’s what AllStars do.
Toppin hesitated on that shot. Relax kid.
Haarlow with the raving about Randle’s superior conditioning this season being the source of his success. So true.
Funny that the Hawks are so close. Knicks needed more fast break easy buckets.

Second half: Randle dominating but the Hawks seem to have an answer more often than not. Gotta get more stops, force more turnovers. Are they getting tired? Thibs has a deep bench. Just rest the tired winded players.
Thinking this is where the Knicks miss Mitch. Too many shots in the lane for the Hawks and too many free throws for them.
And now Noel is back and playing valuable minutes.
Ha so Young is truly a sieve on defense. Mr. Frazier pointing out the futility of scoring if you give up more than you get. Maybe Fool’s Gold.
Randle HUGE clutch shot at 1:04 left in Q3 but Young answers again.....
Not seeing much from Reddish TBH.
Gallinari schooling Toppin and Thibs upset. Gallinari has made a career off that shot. I think he must have more than 60%TS which is elite efficiency.
Randle with a cheap shot on Gallinari elbow to chops. And a challenge. That could be free throws and possession. Looked flagrant to me, sadly. Ah home cooking. Knicks are lucky there. Mr. Frazier laughing at the Gallinari makeup call.
IQ WITH A DAGGER.
Barrett come on man. Jeez.
RANDLE CLUUUUUTCHH.
Barrett big three off a danderous bad pass by Randle.
Randle having a career night but now Reddish has woken up.
Very nice win on Randle’s career night. Should not have been that close but hey the team looked good didn’t it?

If Randle is not an all-star then take the All-Star game and pack it off to the local playground BBall court. And no TV because I wouldn't be interested
Noel is doing a good job of playing absent Mitch Robinson on the defensive side.
For those dangling IQ in a trade, stop and take a look at this guy night in and night out. If I look at the right angle I see a very young Steph Curry maybe. Pure shot, unlimited range.
I do wish the Knicks have a blowout game just to get some of the bench guys some game time especially needed in upcoming back to backs.
39 games in and 14-15 who had that in the lotto? Anyone?

Noel pleasantly surprised with a big sequence of plays when the game started to get away from them, that was a big job by him. Nice to see RJ hit some big shots, but let’s face it, when the game is on the line they’re better off with the more dependable shooter Burks out there. His recent slump has opened the door for Randle again. Good to see Thibs stick with Rose and IQ down the stretch, especially when Rose was a bit off. That’s the backcourt that will win you games more often than not. And nothing left to say about Randle. He’s setting himself up for a huge extension.

I like to check the box score, both normal and advanced on basketballreference.com just to corroborate those numbers with the eye test. One factor in particular stood out to me and that was RJ's night. I didn't really notice but he has a terrific statline: [code] Basi Starters MP FG FGA FG% 3P 3PA 3P% FT FTA FT% ORB DRB TRB AST STL BLK TOV PF PTS +/- RJ Barrett 32:36 8 14 .571 3 3 1.000 2 3 .667 4 2 6 3 1 0 1 1 21 +12

Oh yeah I wasn't discounting those other thing either but I meant he matured and he chose to push himself to be better conditioned and to execute better. That's between the ears stuff. Frank and Dennis haven't chosen to be better conditioned or haven't chosen to rise above their talent level, which is why one is always hurt and never rises to the challenge and other just got traded AGAIN.

I would like to know who his training/advising team is because the results speak for themselves. The game seems to have slowed down for him, or at least it looks like it has trended that way. Again, his level of conditioning allows him to excel. Better decisions, more effective defense, great floor impact.
