But this game (Clippers) shows why I don't like the 3-pointer. Yeah I know its a firm part of the game, but it was brought around when the 3 point shot was difficult to do. Now, even the towel boys can do it.
Maybe its time to pull back the 3 point line AND eliminate the sideline shot. The game often breaks down to setting someone up near there and passing the ball around before the last pass to a player that moves to that edge and ends up potting it.

I respect the very old school mentality of eliminating the 3pt shot again but respectfully, there's no way in hell Adam Silver is going to do that. This is the way the game is now and the stars of the Adam Silver era are made amongst other things.

I realize the firmness of the three, but the question is whether you think that it has helped it be a better game, set back the game, or had no effect. And it should not be changed in difficulty?

Shooting is a skill. I'd prefer that other aspects of the game be re-tooled such as dribbling, which is almost always about palming the ball and with that palming comes selfishness and tunnel-vision. Traveling? An abomination. Used to be you pick up your dribble and then it's 1.5 steps. Nowadays it's 2, 3, even sometimes 4 steps for the Lebron's etc. So I see an erosion of those skills and with that erosion a less beautiful game. And at the same time you abolish the hand check and don't call moving screens?!? It's a recipe for a pretty boring game until you get to the second round of the playoffs. I would widen and lengthen the court. Raising the basket height is a harder ask.

The 3 opens up so much space. So I'm okay with it. Personally , I'd have the same distance on all threes. this would eliminate corner threes and greatly help defenses. But just wait 10-15 years, kids will be killing 3 pointers.
