...I was wrong about Randle. I'm still undecided about if we should resign him longterm or not, but I will be the first person to eat crow.
Thibs and the work of the coaching staff are evolving him to a different player than he was last year.
I saw him barely able to keep his eyes open because he was so gassed today with back to back matinee, and will us to victory along with RJ.
I have to give credit where credit is due. I won't jump off the cliff and say he's the best 4 in the East or anything but we'd have a Fizdale like win total if he wasn't leading us.
C'mon fellas. I know I wasn't the only one needing to eat crow this year on Randle. All he needed was the right coach.
What say you??

While I was never as down on Randle as most, I certainly did not think that he had this kind of ability. He has greatly surpassed my hopes for him under Thibs. It just goes to show what a real coach can do. Randle is going to be an All-Star this year because of Thibs.

I think Thibs coaching and Randle’s passing are key ingredients to Randle’s success but the main reason Julius has played at an All-Star level is his commitment to conditioning. He changed everything about his diet and conditioning and it shows.
And yes. We extend Julius Randle. He will be 27 and he leads the team in scoring, rebounding and assists while shooting over 48% from the field while his 3 point shooting has improved. I know the Knicks drafted Obi Toppin as a power forward but embrace the future and develop him as a hybrid forward.

I’ve been wrong about Randle twice! I hated him last year and jumped back off the bandwagon during the five game losing streak. I felt he has the ball too much and the young players won’t develop because of it. And of course Obi doesn’t play at all. I’m climbing back on after the two wins though! Extending him is not necessary however, as the Knicks just have to pick up next year’s option. After two full years there will be no doubt as to who the real Randle is.

I think the very good Randle is based on the level of shooters that surround him.

JB,
Much respect for your post. I always believed in Randle's ability and talents, however last year his turnovers were very bothersome to me. I can live with the turnovers this year because of his passing, leadership and terrific overall play. At 26, I believe Julius should be considered part of the Knick's future.
