.....and I hate to even mention it, but the league is going to probably shut down before the playoffs again.
The reason I say this is because almost every team but the Knicks has players in COVID-19 protocols.
The Sixers dressed only 8 players and played 7 because one of them was coming back from an injury.
I hope not but with barely any fans there it's the players looking worse for wear with this and early season freak injuries.
Thoughts?

Sadly I agree. They may have to go back to the bubble in Orlando to get the season and the playoffs in without an outbreak of COVID-19. I think the bubble makes the players adhere to the protocols. That’s not happening now.

And the bubble keeps players away from almost all other people. Outbreaks are at an alltime high. Many people are adhering to guidelines and still become infected.

I’m not sure, I actually think they will plow through. With no fans in the stands they don’t care if half the team is out. We just saw the NFL let the Broncos play without a QB and the Browns without all their receivers, and today a playoff game without their coach. They know as the season goes on, the COVID rates will go down as the weather gets warmer and more people get vaccinated, so they expect the playoffs to be relatively normal. They’ll be postponements here and there, but I think they’ll get through it. Whether they should do this is a different matter, of course, and I agree they should shut down and go into a bubble. I’m sure nobody in the league wants this though, as it will separate them from their families for months.

The bubble let them be with their immediate families and let the coaches and refs do that too. You sign up to be a professional athlete, your life and your families life isn't the same. Some of these single multi millionaires still want to have a life, and while that's OK if they want to, James Harden is still going to strip clubs and pop up shops with no mask, players of different teams are meeting up at friends of other teams(Jason Tatum/Bradley Beal). I totally get it but some of these guys are not mature enough and are still having large family gatherings until this thing is manageable. I'm having a 2020 where 2 of my closest family friends died do to COVID complications, and 4 currently are COVID-19 positive due to a large Thanksgiving gathering they did that, due to my own health concerns couldn't be apart of. Point being I take this thing whether some people want to call it a super flu or a man made concoction or whatever, with the seriousness of a heart attack, even if I was asymptomatic. I know everyone has their own beliefs on this COVID-19 thing, but you don't just catch it by being responsible. I look at IG and off that alone I know "some" of these NBA players are not socially distancing, and while I get being a young and handsome bachelor in a big city, there are things more important in life at the moment. This wasn't directed towards you specifically Gates btw but really to those who state it's total isolation as if that's not something each and every one of us are doing right now. It's called maturity and responsibility. No one on the Knicks has caught COVID-19 since the season started and NY is a worldwide Hotspot, or at least is currently in the top 10 worldwide cities for cases the past year. Not one. And we have the youngest team in the league. Go figure

Go figure is correct.
