I would love nothing better than to fix the Knicks PG woes internally. I like DSJ and appreciate his hard work on fixing his shot but thatโs just one component of his game. With his athletic ability he should be able to get any shot he wants but can he get good shots for his teammates?
Should be an interesting camp. ๐

He doesnt seem to see the play or where to go to get the a teammate an open shot. I think you either have it or you dont. Hard to teach that.

Thanks 4 posting. Big fan of Abdul Rauf. In big 3 summer league, his jumper is still money

I know this is awhile ago, but this is who Dennis Smith Jr is or rather was. If he can get back the hunger of his younger self, he and by and large the Knicks will be better served.
High school freshman:
And this(high school sophomore):
And lastly this(college freshman):
The main thing is his confidence. Fizdale killed this kids and Trier's confidence and Dallas didn't help either.
I love the fact that Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf has taken him under his wing.
I'm hoping his peers can rally around him.
I really wish Payton didn't get resigned to be honest.

You mean for the shove on Crowder? Sure for that I like him too. But this is Dennis and Franks contract year. Especially if we signed Rivers, we should've not signed Payton mere hours earlier. With Harper and Quickley who also can run up the ball the Payton signing drips of Perry wanting his own guy back more than it making sense from a practical standpoint. We can't trade contracts of free agents for three months or December 15th of the CBA but with this new shorter season that may be until late February the earliest.

A poor shooting one to be sure, which greatly limits him. So far, I've seen nothing to indicate that Smith, Harper, or frank will assist Mitch, RJ or Obi in getting better shots. Elfrid has and will.

I appreciate you said so far. Because the guard position isn't about 28 y/o Payton but again what we have in the young players. I appreciate what Payton can do but he also contributed to that horrible team last year. Let someone else try to run it this year. Just saying

I like to see RJ at the three so more guards like Frankie and Rivers could play the two guard.Payton is by far the best point guard if he could only shoot,Frankie needs to shoot .DSJ is interesting because he has all the talent and you root for a guy that been through what he did last year.

I'd say you are 90 percent cortect. But the other 10 percent is who makes RJ, Mitch, and Obi better. Having Smith Harper or Frank as 28 minure starting PG is waaaaay too big a question mark in others development. If one of them beats him out GREAT. But if all 3 are what we've seen then have a passer that can help the future ballers. Finally, if you are correct we can always trade Elfrid for a pick(s) ๐
