This will test me. Rivers is my least favorite NBA player. My ire with him dates back to his college years but IMHO opinion he’s a brat and a punk. Now he’s a Knick.
Sheeesh!!!

He actually improved as a pro the last 2-3 by alot. My question now is with him and Payton here how do we even begin to give Quickley and DSJR and Frank a try? This definitely sounds like Thibs wanting vets to even out the roster a bit.

All these guys playing the same positions and all on similar attractive one year deals tells me some we keep and some we deal. Rivers can play some PG but he’s mostly been a SG. Same as Burks who is also a SF just like Reggie Bullock. Ed Davis and Nerlens Noel are interchangeable too. I see a pattern. 😎

Austin is here for three years at 10 mil total. I can’t believe he signed for that low. Can we renege on the Payton deal now? Lol

I’m Irish and the feud is sacred to me. 😎 But if Rivers does put on the Orange and Blue I declare a moratorium and he’s one of ours. The irony is his sister Callie was a Gator volleyball player and beloved here. Austin? Not so much. 😎

He was projected as a PG in high school and college but mostly he’s a SG like Brandon Knight. 3 years? Interesting.

Meh. Very meh. He's a defensive sieve and not good shooting the three but he can initiate an offense in a pinch. I don't confuse a tough guy pose with effectiveness. Oh well there's always trade fodder on the Knicks it seems. The Nerlens Noel pickup was great though, what with Mitch often in foul trouble.

Knicks need to stop testing the limits of Trend’s fandom with these signings. Good on Noel though for getting the seal of approval! I love the signing. Dude can put the ball in the basket. Three for ten is a bargain and two years of team options? Between this and receiving two picks for taking Ed Davis and then another for getting rid of Ed Davis, I’m starting to think Leon Rose might just be if not a wizard then at least the right man to fix the Knicks. Imagine if he had signed Melo and Hayward and traded for Westbrook or Paul and thrown in picks. Sure the Knicks would have won more games, but they would have had no future. Now they’ve improved and maintained flexibility. The improvement might be enough to make good players sit up and take notice when they reach free agency. If you then add them and top draft picks while still maintaining flexibility then the elite players will start to think about coming here. It’s a tough job but Rose and company look up to the task. As for this offseason’s top free agents? I wanted some of them right up to the point where I saw what they wound up signing for. A lot of these teams that made big signings just weren’t good enough to do so, and those signings will come back and haunt them. Michael Jordan greatest player ever, worst executive ever! Imagine making a monumental error of overpaying Batum and then having to waive and stretch his contract to make the room for a player you’ll have the same regrets over in two years? Learn from your mistakes!
