Now why in the world couldn't we have offered him this?

Cause we'd only see regular season rondo. And not sure Thibs would want to deal with that.

Serge to Clips for 9.3 midlevel. That's an excellent upgrade for them.

Knicks doing a great job of preserving their cap space and setting themselves up for next year’s deep draft, aren’t they? However I’m starting to think cap space is overrated. We’re seeing team after team make signing after signing with literally no cap space whatsoever. I am looking forward to seeing improvement from our young players under the best coaches they’ve ever had, and I’m looking forward to seeing Obi Toppin, who I think will immediately be the best player on the team, (Sorry RJ) but it’s going to be another long season, I’m afraid.

Until Obi learns to play D, he will never be the best player on any team. I will be surprised if he is better than RJ this year.
That being said, cap space is not overrated. When you have a bad team like us, cap space gives you the flexibility to acquire useful assets. That being said, with a real coach in Thibs, we should see some real improvement.

Hope you are right about Obi. I do think RJ will be much better this season.
