I disagree. Westbrook takes away touches and usage from Hayward who is a deft playmaker in his own right, driving down Hayward's floor impact. And because Westbrook is a terrible outside shooter he just clogs the floor because his defender will sag off to challenge drivers and rollers. With my luck they'll acquire both and I will be a frustrated Knicks fan yet again, yelling at Westbrook's idiocies. I see you didn't comment whatsoever about the masterful draft and draft pick allocation plus the purge of Mills useless cannon fodder he signed last summer. You would be a frustrated ONLY and EXCLUSIVELY if we traded for Westbrook but did other thing like signed Hayward and saved money in other deals? I don't follow the college game, Jason. I do tune in to the Sweet 16 and beyond when there's a tournament. I leave it to you and the other guys who follow the college game and do the draft analysis. Hopefully we did well with the 8th pick and it's encouraging to see that Rose managed to trade up for two more kids in the 20s. Also a fan of the roster purge. Hopefully that makes room for Hayward. If Rose gets Heyward and foregoes any Westbrook nonsense my faith in Rose will grow. Until then all things having to do with the Knicks front office is a "guilty until proven innocent" approach. We Knick fans have been suffering for too long from incompetence and chaos. I am more than entitled to be skeptical. I just want to see good and hopefully beautiful basketball again. Westbrook takes away from other All-Star caliber players because his usage is astronomical. It could not work with KD or Harden. And it doesn't work when he has only role players around him either just watching him do what he does. Some New Yorkers will lap up Westbrook's game without looking past the long list of negatives and the questionable career success he has had. The Knicks are a young team and at a delicate stage. Players like him are not good for the development of the team. Heyward is a different matter entirely. You do appreciate the distinction, right? Especially given our circumstances?

If you would've explain it like this earlier, I think would've understood your point sooner. I agree Westbrook has his flaws and how you pointed them out it may not be worth it. Heyward is a totally different things player but who knows if he wants to go to rebuilding roster without another star that can be HIS Robin. Would that be RJ or Obi Toppin?? Who knows.

If Westbrook came here to do what Thibs asked, I’m down with it . If he thinks he’s coming here to take 30 shots a night, don’t need him. He’s done all the stat things, maybe it clicks for him. NY bright lights, play smarter, and be apart of a winner in NY. That’s better than Brooklyn, or Houston or OKC.
