Of these cuts, the only one I would have liked to keep was Dotson.

Of these cuts, the only one I would have liked to keep was Dotson. Dotson was a 3 and D guy. And he could hit the three. Make absolutely no sense to NOT keep a cheap contract and good teammate and player like him. |

The Knicks are really clearing the decks!! Some clarifications. While the Knicks cannot re-sign somebody they cut they can negotiate with Gibson and Portis as they had team options that weren’t picked up. Olson wasn’t extended an offer so he is gone. I imagine Quickley made him expendable.
Now what? The knicks cleared up some 40+ million in cap space. Room to absorb Westbrook’s contract? Room to go after a free agent like Wood or Davis Bertans? Montreal Harrell is out there along with some older bigs like Tristan Thompson, Derrick Favors and Serge Ibaka. Or maybe the knicks make a run at sharpshooter Joe Harris.
The game is afoot!

We cut Pinson too.I'm surprised since we just signed him.After evaluation of free agents the only one I want is Jones from Miami a great wing defender backup type.His age fits our timeline and he has alot of spark to his game.A winning attitude will be welcomed and at 22 he might breakout under a dee coach like Tibs.His heart is welcomed.

Tells me they need every dollar for something reeeeel big. |
