"Dallas Mavericks star big man Kristaps Porzingis will be sidelined to begin the season as he continues to rehabilitate from surgery to repair the meniscus in his right knee, according to Mavs president of basketball operations Donnie Nelson.
The Mavs have targeted Jan. 1 as the date that Porzingis would be cleared to begin on-court activity, Nelson told ESPN.
"We're going to make sure that that's 100 percent before we put him out there, so that's going to be into the season before we are able to have him join us," Nelson said Monday on 105.3 FM The Fan in Dallas."

This is why getting the draft picks from Dallas mattered. An injury or two can make that pick a late lottery pick in the draft.

Shocked, I say shocked! Paul going to Phoenix I think makes them better than the Mavs, and with the KP news I’m starting to think there’s a chance that unprotected number one from the Mavs could be a lottery pick!

If anything happens to Luka we might get the top pick from that pick ,I don't suggest anything happen to him but their team is riding on him for sure.

Hopefully porzingis takes the season off like the p*say he is and maybe Luka sprains his ankle and stays out for some extended period of time.
