As I said earlier today if they didnt move from 8 the Kincks would get either Curry or Hill. Both fit a need and both work in the D'Antoni system.
Jordan Hill would likely be compared by those not famialir with him to Channing Frye and that would be wrong. They were two different styles of play. Arizona was pretty much a run and gun team during Channings time and Fry was the #3 or #4 choice to score. Arizona played more D in recent years (under 2 head coaches other than Lute Olson). Jordan Hill was the #1 scorer and rebounder and blocker. He also played good defense.
The good- he is anm athletic runing big man that can fit the D'Antoni sysytem. He can replace a lot of the rebounds of Lee (almost sure to be moved) and defends better with his 6-11 size and over 7 foot wingspan which makes him a good help blocker (about 2 a game). He can play either the PF or C positions and has some quick post moves. He has a reasonable mid range game but should improve as he is fairly new to Basketball ( 5-6 years experience). What you saw in the highlights is a composite of what his game is now. but his numbers have improved each of his 3 years at UA,
The areas to improve. Hes not a bad FT for a big man at 67% but he needs to be closer to 75%. He needs to build up muscle , although he dominated the post in college , but he has the frame to add 20-30 pounds without slowing down his game. His passing was talked about in the highlights but it was close to 2 assists per game.
Bottom line: Big man with a versatile game that has shown he can run and he can improve. At #29 I expect the knicks to get a PG.
