Smart pick, really a no-brainer as he could have gone anywhere from #3 on.
I am totally mystified, but thankful, to the Wolves picks. Two PGs? The Warriors taking Curry? They would have been better off, IMHO, with DeRozan.
Still, while we didn't get the guy we wanted we got a very good player who is a total fit for the system and a guy who especially helps us if David Lee is traded.
Welcome aboard Jordan!!

Man I wanted Stephon curry in the end. The man wanted to be here and he would have been electric in the Garden. I knew as soon as the Warriors traded Crawford for peanuts that Curry was unlikely to come here. I almost thought we'd get rubio too since he fell.
With that said I wish our Knicks player well although I am deflated a little. hil was the best player but i'd rather had Terrence williams to replace Quentin Richardson once Curry was off the board.

Hill was definitely the best player available by most evaluations. I'm fine with this pick because he can replace David Lee's production since I am convinced that Lee is a goner.

I guarantee a trade with Minn and Lee and us getting Rubio, this is the only way this draft makes sense to me,Minn getting two points is obvious they have a deal in the works and we can't trade Lee till July first mark my words we are getting Rubio for Lee.

I wonder if a sign and trade with David lee and an expiring contract would pry Curry away. We needed a reason to put duhon on the bench and I simply HATE Golden state because they waste talent and misuse assets on that squad and Curry even dared someone to draft him and he verbally said he wanted to go to NY aand they still drafted him. Dell curry looked happy his son got drafted but kind of dissapointed where he went.
It is what it is though. Another thing too. How is it the best pick in the first round donnie could get was the NBA champions pick and still pay 3 million for it and include the second rounder for next we got in the Balkmna trade? Why coulld we get on the minnesota's like 18? Ty Lawson would have been at this pick.

Rene, this seems to be a likely scenario. No way the Wolves will keep both point gaurds. Remeber the new gm of the wolves Kahn was mentored by Walsh.

Something must be up with the Timberwolves, picking 3 point guards.

Wolves tradding Lawson of all guards to Denver for a future New Orleans pick? That was the best the wolves can do? We have q rich and Larry hughes as expiring deals. I dont want us to mess up our cap number for next year but the low round pick for 3 mil and our next years second rounder and the inaction to talk to minny about Lawson or the 18th pick in general before they picked is beyond my comprehension.

Guys...
Ricky Rubio wants nothing to do with Minny, which is why Flynn was chosen right after him. New York can trade Jared Jeffries and Jordan Hill for Brian Cardinal (His deal is off the books by summer 2010) and Rubio, who is not a happy camper and wants NY so bad. The Wolves took Flynn as insurance, because they can still get an excellent rookie back in Hill, get rid of Grandpa Cardinal for the more versatile, younger, and taller Jeffries, and save face for what can be a Steve Francis revisited scenario.
Remember, Ruby can return to his Euro team and not have to deal with the Wolves...The kid will be a Knick, so while I like Hill and he was the obvious second choice to Steph Curry, he wouldn't have been a thought had Minny passed on the Ruby. However, the T'Wolves will like Hill and Jeffries. I never saw such an inept team as the Wolves, and they are already tiny. Two PGs? Nah. Donnie will broker the deal, as he did a terrific job in getting rid of Q-tip for a center/PF in Darko, who is only 24 years old and is in the last year of his contract.
Lest we forget, Donnie also passed on Ty Lawson and Gerald Henderson. He knows that Rubio is ready for the next step ; )
Kudos to my colleague Rene, who already is thinking three steps ahead like his Kinks' Komrade. Ken...

Too bad about missing Curry I suspected he'd be our crazy-talent shooter a la Alan Howston, Reggie Miller, or the kid taken #3 last year.
oh well, can't have anything
